sup bro? I can agree with most of what you said, but I REALLY can't stand the Commanders....hard for me to even type their name without vitriol spewing from my mouth

I hate the Commanders too, the only time I cheer for them is when they play the steelers !!! ( Notice I keep the steelers in small caps--they don't get any respect from me !!!)

Before reading your descriptions I went half full.

After reading it I don't think it represents who I am.

I'm an engineer by training and finance professional by profession.

I love cold hard analysis and if things look bleak I'll tell you so that your bridge doesn't topple over and your investment portfolio shows some returns.

I can call it like I see it and still be hopeful for better.

That's not how you have described half full sir.

CowboysZone ULTIMATE Fan
I chose #2. But it is still such a wide range and varies from time to time.
Sometimes I am 1, sometimes but not as often 3. But I just won't go on and on about negative stuff. Unless I really think it is bad. Like Henderson needs replaced..lol..

Even after the 3-13 season, I was not #4, as I knew we were getting Aikman, then after the 1-15 season, I still was high on what could happen. After we drafted Emmitt, I was probably a #1 for a while.
After the triplets was gone, #3, but since Romo, #2.

2) The glass is half full: this type of fan thinks we are almost there just a step away from the Superbowl held out only by injuries, bad luck, or consistently "basic" level coaching strategies... and next year will be our year. This fan can tolerate a little bit of negative news, post, etc… but not too many. They almost always make positive post but occasionally can drift to the negative side albeit temporarily.

There. FIFY. Now it truly applies to me.

the 70's and 90's were really fun times got to watch all the greats play and coach you pretty much new you were going to win every year and making the playoffs was the normal. The last 20 years not so much mostly heartbreak every year. i try to make up my own mind about the team from past experiences of watching the nfl.

One kind of fan can only watch your Dallas Cowboys whose childhood heros were the real Captain America, the three Amigos and/or the actual Mr. Cowboy. Ofcorse by the time training camp is over every single year the rose colored glasses show up in blue and silver ... even though there is serious doubts with the leadership and the lack of a football culture from the top.

I'm the half full kinda a guy.
It pisses me off those that want to loose out.

Players and coaches should think like you do, they should be trying to win out because they are playing for their jobs. Some of these players are player for spots next year, either with this team or another one, for coaches and players the future Is now. Us fans think in the long term because we have been and will be around longer than all the players and coaches so we think about whats best for the teams future as is the case for wanting a better draft pick. Personally the Cowboys winning the last 2 games does absolutely nothing to help them win next year or in the future.

#5. I don't care what or how much of it is in the glass. I love my team, but I no longer allow their success (or lack thereof ) determine my emotional state (too many broken remotes). Therefore, I really don't care about the glass or its contents.

None of those describe me at all.

It is probably impossible to come up with descriptions to describe everyone but I bet you have varying degrees of expectation and/or excitement. That was the point to the thread. If we had all been on Cowboyszone from 92 - 96 we would all be #1's, at least 99% of us.

I'm only 26 with no real memories of the '96 Super Bowl...I have no reason to be anything but glass 1/2 empty. I have yet to see a well run franchise with an adequate roster on the field for any kind of extended period in my life time. Why would I think anything different is going to happen at this point?
