Isn’t that the same complaint many have about Dak? Performs against nobodies and fails in the playoffs. Why wouldn’t that apply to Quinn and his Ds?The bigger point was we did assemble good defenses. How they performed in important games might have been similar to how our offense underperformed as well.
So the koolaid was sugar free? Before I quit drinking, I'd put 4 shots of Grey Goose in my Yeti and then filled it up with ice a grape Kool Aid. Or as I call it Gatorade zero
Hey Bob, I agree with you but the other side needs the same understanding.I agree with you. But for some fans here, they are willing to buy in with much lower levels of proof required. I’m not offended by their blustery hope.
But those of us who need more than a good off-season to “believe” should be understood and accepted as well.
Speaking for myself, I’m thrilled that they finally put a coaching staff together the way I’ve been wanting them to do it. The last time it was done this way was indeed in the Jimmy Johnson era.

Yep it was actually G2So the koolaid was sugar free?
It applies to everyone.Isn’t that the same complaint many have about Dak? Performs against nobodies and fails in the playoffs. Why wouldn’t that apply to Quinn and his Ds?
The direction hasnt changed. We still have a puppet HC . And a meddling owner as GM.In Jimmy Johnson’s second season as coach the team went 7-9. Although it wasn’t a great record, it was easy to see they were much improved from the previous season. You saw the talent improving as well as the on-field play and coaching.
I don’t know why now, we have to see this year’s team have results beyond anything we’ve seen in this era.
Under the same directive in 1990, fans would have given up on Jimmy’s Cowboys that year (His second season as head coach).
If the 2026 Cowboys are improved, we will know it. If they fall short of an NFCCG this season, there is no reason to think these coaches can’t add even more players to the defense and have a better year in 2027.

I am finally happy with the direction of the franchise, and I haven’t felt that way since I was a kid in the 90’s.
Was it Jerry that did it? No. But as long as it was done I’m happy about it.
Who cares if results aren’t better. Nothing is really different unless we have more success.I don’t think results necessarily dictates if something is different or not. Things can be different and lead to either success or failure.
Don’t totally disagree but at least Jerry appears to have taken a step back. Hopefully it’s permanentWho cares if results aren’t better. Nothing is really different unless we have more success.
I knew we were on the right track when I actually saw the 1990 team play actual games...not exhibition games. There was also a new regime in town. I hadn't had 30 years of failure of an incompetent GM to look back on and his puppet coaches which haven't changed. In Jimmy Johnson’s second season as coach the team went 7-9. I think some fans are interpreting better decisions as stepping back. And we aren’t even sure yet if they are that much better decisions than some previous playoff teams until the results come in.Don’t totally disagree but at least Jerry appears to have taken a step back. Hopefully it’s permanent
Jerry has never taken a step back like this. His ego wouldn’t allow it. I have a feeling that his age has something to do with what is going on now.I think some fans are interpreting better decisions as stepping back. And I promise you if they do come in he’s going to be at the forefront taking credit for drafting and acquiring the right talent and hiring the right coaches not for stepping back giving someone else more credit.
He’s done this all before and why we have been in this situation for the last 30 years. And if anyone bucks him wanting more credit he’ll fire them too.!
Not sure why fans are feeling like Jethro has taken some major step back? Better decisions I guess they assume he’s not involved?Jerry has never taken a step back like this. His ego wouldn’t allow it. I have a feeling that his age has something to do with what is going on now.
Did you watch this year’s draft? It also appears that Schott did the interviews and had a huge influence on the hires, as did CP. Steven, which may not be a good thing, has been much more involved as well. Not sure why fans are feeling like Jethro has taken some major step back? No, he doesn’t have to back down. He’s very involved . Until he says he isn’t .Did you watch this year’s draft? It also appears that Schott did the interviews and had a huge influence on the hires, as did CP. Steven, which may not be a good thing, has been much more involved as well.
Jerry is old for *** sake. He has to back down at some point. Hopefully it’s now.
No, Jerry hasn't stepped back. That's ridiculous.Don’t totally disagree but at least Jerry appears to have taken a step back. Hopefully it’s permanent
