I am still of the opinion that the QB spot is the weakest. While Romo may turn out to be good, he showed reasons why we shouldn't just assume he will. I am totally not sold on him yet. If we have to go to our back up, Brittle-Brad, we are done for I think. He is an okay passer, but he will get blasted and get hurt sooner rather than later, then we're down to the 3rd string. I only hope that Romo both, reacts well to Garrett/Wilson, and, he remains healthy.

Looks like you and I are on the same page with this one my friend.

"Brittle-Brad" Johnson....I like that name as it suits him well. LOL. Going forward, I will begin using it as well, with your permission of course. Thanks buddy.

I'm going to go with another option not listed. The 'fans' overall are the shakiest unit for the Cowboys. You never know what you're going to get from them week to week. Maybe we can pick up someone to shore it up but I don't know who would be available. We'll see if they can step it up this year.

Great idea for a thread, Winicki. :)

I agree with **:

With Phillips, I do think that will change. I predict that Hatcher will beat out Canty at RDE and play very well under Wade's schemes. I also think that Spears will make a huge jump in production now that Phillips is running the D. I'm convinced that Spears is much more suited for how Phillips will use him than how he was used under Parcells/Zimmer.

Spears and Hatcher are both extremely athletic and have terrific movement skills for men right around 300 pounds each. I think either would do well as 4-3 strongside DE's and that both will produce good numbers in Wade's 3-4.

Just like Bruce Smith produced big numbers for Phillips and Castillo did... I think both Hatcher and Spears will flourish under Wade.

So, while I picked DL as the weakest unit... I think it has the potential to become a real strength for the team, too.

Well said, **. I've never been as high on Canty as most, but I think Hatcher will become a very good player. Canty -- or Spears if he doesn't keep his weight in check -- may become a backup for us. And there's nothing wrong with that. But this is why I actually like our D-line.

I chose LB because IMO the key to this team is defense, and the key to this defense is the linebackers. And while Ware is an amazing talent and player, the rest are average as can be. Ellis is a DE playing LB. Ayodele is solid, but a journeyman type. Bradie has severe agility limitations and I agree with Bleu that he might get benched. Carpenter might be good, but we only have one game as evidence for that. I'm seriously underwhelmed by our LBs. Maybe other areas of the team are just as average, but they aren't as critical to the overall success of our team as LBs are.
