Sorry but I just don't see the point of your post,, Zeke is the RB1 on this team, and Pollard is a much better RB2 than Eckler ever will or would be.I would take that tandem all day long. Eckler just signed a 4 years deal at about 5 million per year. Him and pollard would be an incredible duo not costing us more than 6 million. Free up another 9 million from the RB position.

If I missed the premise, please enlighten me.
So I see you have a hard time getting over the past.. I did as well, bad build model IMO , but Zeke is our RB1, so you have to live with it and understand that is not going to change.Sure, no problem. Eckler is a very good back and the combination of the two would be an incredible backfield. You can get good backs at 5 million a year. Don't need to waste money at the position paying ONE guy 15 million per year. Whether he is better or not.
I would also be very happy if Pollard turned out to be as good as Eckler. But who is better really isn't the point.; Money is the point.
I guess if you want me to minimize the point...…...Paying Zeke was a big mistake, we could get good backs for much cheaper that will get the job done with Pollard.

We payed a RB a 2nd contract,, bad decision but it is what it is,,,, irrelevant post bro.

Dallas had Elliott in 2016. If they drafted Ekeler in 2017, then they wouldn't have drafted Pollard or any other back in 2019.
Could you imagine how different things would be if the Chargers didn't grab Bosa right in front of the Cowboys? They shouldn't have even drafted Zeke in 2016. That was the first mistake.
Here are just a couple of questions for your wacky idea. Since Eckler just signed a 5 year deal how do the Cowboys get him. Now before you answer that why would the Cowboys want a RB who in his first 3 seasons has a total of 1300 yards rushing. Then if you're saying that the Cowboys would be freeing up 9 mil per season by getting Eckler, where is that 9 mil coming from. Now if you're thinking by not having Elliott then you're numbers are WAY off. The difference in the salaries may free up 9 mil, I don't see it though, but you forget about the 25.8 mil in dead money whether Elliott is released or traded. So doing your hair brain idea will actually cost the Cowboys money. NO THANKS!!!!

Its not an idea its an observation. The observation that a back like Eckler can be had for 5-6 million per season. And you can team him with a 4th round pick RB and have a great backfield. Spending 15 million on one drunken back is ridiculous. Especially one that needs an all world Oline to do his job well.
Now to Eckler……….…….how much do you follow Eckler and the Chargers backfield situation? if you had, you would know the answer to that question. Take a look at what Eckler did the first 8 games of last season when he was the full time back before Melvin Gordon ended his holdout. The guy can ball. He has pretty much done that EVERY time Gordon has been out.
first off for someone you're so excited about you would think that you would at least spell his name right. it's Ekeler not Eckler. Next, Ekeler was drafted in 2017 Elliott was drafted in 2016 and after using the 4th pick in the draft in 2016 they weren't going to draft another back the next year. Lastly your big idea is a back who IS a backup and even when he got some games to start while Gordon held out he AGAIN became a backup and you for some reason think a backup running back is the cure for the Cowboys.
It's obvious you don;t like Elliott but he's going to be the Cowboys starting running back for sure the next 3 season since his contract has a potential out after the 2022 season.
