Apparently they are going to tag Pollard busted leg and all. Even though there are plenty of outstanding backs in the draft. They better be right. A mistake here and it will really hurt the team.

I personally would draft 2 of the outstanding backs coming out and take advantage of the strength of the draft. Evidently they aren't going to do that. I suspect that they will only draft 1 and have Pollard who better not come back lame. They better not make a mistake on this. Pollard better come back and be what he was last year.

I will never understand why it's a mistake to tag a player as a short term committment rather than signing them to a long term.

Pollard was one of the best players on the Cowboys last year so I understand bringing him back to see if he can get back to 100%. Regardless it would be prudent to draft an RB on day 2. If Pollard doesn't perform well you have another player that can be productive and avoid paying a bigger financial committment.

It's very possible Pollard's best days are behind him. Hope not. Zeke's (idiodic) contract is going to hit the cap whether they keep, cut, or restructure him. Add $10M to franchise Pollard, and the commitment of resources is crazy! They might even feel pressured to use a high draft pick on a RB too.

Wish they would devote all those resources to the D-Line instead!

If Pollard is healthy, he and Lamb are our only 2 legitimate weapons. If he’s not 100%, this is going to be a disaster.

They're going to be way too busy drafting a backup cornerback with their first pick.

Tag comes before draft.

Going into the draft with must-have needs is historically the #1 reason for draft failure.

If they tag him then they'll put a higher priority on RB in the draft than if they sign him to a new contract.

Zeke 10.9M salary only hits the CAP if they keep him.

Pollard will count 10 million on the tag and the SB teams spent 5-6 million on RBs last year

Pollard had a serious injury and will miss the most of the off season and that is a huge problem when you are installing a new offense

Pollard will take up a roster spot that an actual player could use

I hope now you understand why people are for letting him walk

We literally just franchised Schultz last year lol. Pollard was in fact one of the most explosive players in the nfl last year when he had the ball. He doesn’t have the wear and tear either. Get rid of Zeke. Franchise pollard . Draft a running back. if he isn’t the same (he will still be a game changer). You move on in 2024 easily with no cap issues

Maybe I missed something, and if so please correct me, but this sounds 100% false. Ankle sprains and simple fibula fractures are rarely serious and going into the offseason the recover time shouldn’t be much of an issue at all. Very possible I missed more news that may have pushed the timeline back for pollard so again please correct me if I’m wrong, but he should be able to participate within a couple months. I imagine even at 100% they may be cautious and limit him in June workouts but that’s pretty standard for almost any veteran player coming off of surgery.

Dallas has nine draft choices. They can easily tag Pollard and draft a running back or backs.

I'm hoping Torrance drops to Dallas at 26. This would chore our the OL. The running and passing game would just flow from there with whoever is at the RB or WR position.

I like Schmitz over Torrance.

Different players recover at different rated
This wasn’t just a minor sprain, the twisting was severe enough that it broke a bone

In any event, everything that I posted taken together means we should let him go IMO
