You get what you pay for all teams spend big money on running backs

Pollard won’t be getting a huge money deal from anyone. He’s not an every down back, he’s a role player who will split carries with another back regardless the team he plays for. He’ll certainly be in line for more money than he’s making now, but he won’t be getting some mega deal.

We can't pay everyone. Paying Zeke has been a mistake. The question will be can we find someone in the 2nd or 3rd rounds like that Texans kid that will carry the load for much cheaper than what Pollard will get in FA?

Diggs, Parsons and CeeDee are coming up too, and we're right up against the cap as is

Yeah, let's just let our best offensive player go.
Are you SURE no other RB...rookie I guess...can fill that role?

Not taking naything away form Tony...he's playing lights out. But he's filling a very interesting slot there. HE doesn't HAVE to bang heads, we barely even demand he block for Dak.....just find space abd run like a bat out of ____"

. He's the ONLY guy that could do it? We just need a young fast fresh guy....um...maybe.

I do not worry about cap space or contracts at all

As sparingly as he has been used up until this season, it's not like he has a bunch of miles on him. Frankly, I would appeal to Zeke's team spirit and ask him to take a pay cut. Negotiate with Pollard, and if he drags his feet, tag him for two firsts.

I would also do whatever trick is needed to reduce the hit on the cap by Dak. Play the FA market for an end rusher, and move Parson's back to linebacker most of the time. This kid gets much more wear and tear than a RB.

Focus the draft on OL, LB, and DBs.

But I would keep Pollard. The idea you don't do this or that as a finite statement ignores the exceptions.

Move on from Zeke and keep Pollard. Pollard is our big play guy. What he brings to the table is a little harder to find than what Zeke brings. Pollard is a playmaker with juice and you have to find ways to hang onto those. It seems like every week he’s finding some space and making a play.

Screw team spirit. Zeke should take a pay cut not for altruistic reasons but because he’s not worth it. To put things in a dollar context:
  • Zeke is a 6-8m player with a 12.4m base salary that isn’t guaranteed. Something should be done.
  • Pollard is playing like a 15m running back with the franchise tag at 12m…easy decision IMO.
  • Micah is a 25m per season edge rusher and 15m per season off ball LB. You don’t move him.

No one is handing out big money deals to running backs. For that reason, I don’t believe Pollard will get a big money deal.

Smart teams don't deal out big money deals to RB's.

Agree/Disagree?

depends what big money is. he's electric and relatively fresh. a tag or modest deal and it makes sense to keep him. and worst case tag him. but i'd get at the very least one more year out of him for sure. especially since we don't have major decisions to make THIS offseason

It depends on his deal as far as guaranteed money but man is Pollard underrated. He has 12 TD's (3rd in the NFL), while Zeke gets most of the short yardage red zone carries.

Someone is going to offer him at least 3/30. I would have no issue with the Cowboys giving him something like that.

I wouldn't give him a Zeke sized deal though and would try to minimize the guaranteed years.

Why not just get rid of Zeke? Looks like Malik Davis could do what Zeke is doing for 1 percent of Zeke's money. I don't think i see any free agents that can do what pollard does.
