Pollard won’t be getting a huge money deal from anyone. He’s not an every down back, he’s a role player who will split carries with another back regardless the team he plays for. He’ll certainly be in line for more money than he’s making now, but he won’t be getting some mega deal.
I think you're wrong. Someone will be more than willing to offer him an Aaron Jones type contract (4 years, $12M per). We'll probably never find out; I expect the Cowboys to franchise him.

Screw team spirit. Zeke should take a pay cut not for altruistic reasons but because he’s not worth it. To put things in a dollar context:
  • Zeke is a 6-8m player with a 12.4m base salary that isn’t guaranteed. Something should be done.
  • Pollard is playing like a 15m running back with the franchise tag at 12m…easy decision IMO.
  • Micah is a 25m per season edge rusher and 15m per season off ball LB. You don’t move him.

By all means, take your attitude into the contract negotiation. You're asking a guy to take less money. If your ego and hurt feeling prevent you from using tact and a strategy which might get you what you want, then you ain't the GM for this team. And if your reflex to that comment is you can just go get another RB in the draft, tell me who that is that gets the tough yards you see Zeke get. Players are not parts you can just go get at the Checker Auto store.

Tagging Pollard will probably be the answer.

I will assume you have not read the comments by Micah and the punishment he takes as an edge rusher. Which means you also don't understand why they spell him occasionally. Or you can waste this generational player by allowing him to get beat up throughout every game. Because of his reputation as a rusher, the opponents are doing everything they can to put a hat on a hat, and something three on one. If that means nothing to you, I'll adjust my thinking toward your positions in the future. But for now, I'll listen to Parsons on how he is faring physically, thanks.

Put them in dollar context. I ain't your boy. I don't give a rat's rectum what they get paid. I do not understand why "fans" get bent out of shape because a guy make a hefty salary.

I absolutely agree. When he gets a big contract that's it. You can get a good running back in the 4th round.
that's what we said about wrs and tes lol

Let's see what Pollard can do in the playoffs 1st.

We all know Zeke is D. O. N. E. at the playoff level so he's a gone'er

I still think the combination of Davis and Pollard are way better between the 10 yard lines

But Jerrah is still selling all that Zeke koolaide lmao

These guys think it makes them look oh so cool....in the know....a better fan.

They just look very stupid and ignorant.

"oh but if we dont; pay him (SHOW HIM THE DAM DOOR ALREADY! He's not a playoff level RB....whatever that means))
and they pick up MY boy we will be SO much better"

Really? Fantasy children....

And there's no possibility a somewhat reasonable deal (slightly overpay) can be worked out - especially if Elliott is shown the door?
Zeke already knows where the door is will you guys stop sheesh.

Kick him to the curb
Let 'im walk
Can 'is arse

Come on...what other disrespectful unappreciative terminology can we come up with? You zeke haters are oh so clever...surely there' s more. Come on let's pile on!

The RB tag is $12.6 million, no way am I tagging Pollard or any other RB for that matter. There are a ton of free-agent running backs next season, I would wait to see what his market value is before deciding whether to resign him.

Plus they need to pay Diggs and Lamb.

I’m not so sure about that, because Aaron Jones had a couple of 1000 yard seasons leading up to that contract. He had two seasons of over 200 rushing attempts. Until this season Pollard never had more than 130 rushing attempts. Jones has carried more of a load than Pollard. I doubt there’s a team that’s going to be thrilled with paying Pollard 12M per when he’s splitting carries with another back. I just don’t see him being as effective if he’s carrying most of the load. If the Cowboys were to franchise Pollard they would have to pay him over 12M for one season and I’m not sure they’re going to want to do that. He’s clearly been one of our best players this season and our most explosive offensive player but let’s not forget the Cowboys moved on from DeMarco Murray after he set a franchise record and led the league in rushing in 2014. He received at least one or two MVP votes that season. The Cowboys moved on because they didn’t want to pay him. We’ll see how they handle Pollard’s situation during the offseason.

Smart teams don't deal out big money deals to RB's.

Agree/Disagree?

Common sense says that is the right thing to do with regular RB's ...but not one like Pollard who is your #1 weapon and you are not gonna get the same production from a rookie or even a FA RB. If you let one go, it would be Zeke. He can be replaced or at least brought back at a big discount. Dallas should have the money with Schultz gone. Easy Peazy, Lemon Squeezy.

How about we get our overpaid QB to restructure.. and keep the money for our engine: pollard and zeke.

Well according to the production, statistics, winning percentage, and the pay scale of starting NFL quarterbacks..... our quarterback isn't overpaid. There are other positions on our team that ARE overpaid though.

Are you SURE no other RB...rookie I guess...can fill that role?

Not taking naything away form Tony...he's playing lights out. But he's filling a very interesting slot there. HE doesn't HAVE to bang heads, we barely even demand he block for Dak.....just find space abd run like a bat out of ____"

. He's the ONLY guy that could do it? We just need a young fast fresh guy....um...maybe.
Jahmyr Gibbs from Alabama. His highlights are damn good. @timb2 always puts up a bunch of highlights in the DraftZone.

Pollard can be & has been, an explosive game changer as a runner, receiver, and return man. He would be my top priority to retain. Would like to keep the duo together if possible, and both seem to be comfortable with the tandem. Zeke would need to be at a reduced cost of course, and would be bidding farewell to Schultz.
