Designate Zeke a post-June 1st release, franchise tag Pollard, draft 2 running backs this year and you still have Davis so if Pollard falters you have back-ups, and even if he doesn't you get young RB's exposure time and allow Pollard to walk thereby saving much money at the RB position.

PLEASE DON'T START ME ON THE HARD CAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There should be a cap at every position, qb's making the most (I don't think it's fair, someone later on should complain as to why qb's always make so much more than any position!) Anyways, cap the qb market off at 30 million!! The mahomes, Rodgers, etc make that much! Everyone else, gets lower, not go from 30 million one year, the next year it's 35 million!

People are going to say THE NEW TV DEALS, teams will have more money, SO WHAT!!!!! They're taking up too much of the pie!

Next position that should come in at about 15-20 would be DE/Pass rushers, WR's, Offensive tackles!

AMEN!!! But if I had 2 pick, I say make it standard to have a hard cap for just the QB position. SOMETHING must give.

I agree, but these WR"s are next up at making a lot of money, which will soon get out of hand! Let's look at the RB market, word on the street is you shouldn't pay one that much. Look at zeke's hit for this year, there's a few other's with deals close to his, that's TOO much! I think guys like Saquon etc will have a hard time getting what they want this off season because of this, well and his previous injuries don't help either

Have a hard cap..a freeze if u will for a 3-4 year period for all 32 teams, then it can be reevaluated by the league/owners at the end of such freeze. I think it makes sense. That way a QB for example, can't hold a team hostage year in year out. It would help plateau the salaries for QB's.

Can’t do that. The players are entitled to a certain percentage of revenue per CBA.

The cap only stays flat if revenue does, but overall something should be done about way out of line salaries for QBs.

This won't be a popular opinion maybe. I'm starting to warm up to the idea of rookie contract rbs, strictly. Draft them and let them produce then let the walk but keep drafting a new one every other yr in the first 4 rounds.

First, they absolutely should try to re-sign Pollard, but it they can't franchise him and trade him. His age and the season he just had, and reports starting to come out they expect him to be ready to go by the start of tc.

If McCaffery got the niners a 2nd 3rd and 4th Pollard could Def get dal something like that. Maybe a 3rd and 4th or a 2nd and 5th. Or just a 2nd would be good for me.

Tony Pollard
1377 total yards 12 tds 232 total touches 0 turnovers
5.9yrds per touch

Christian McCaffery
1839 total yards 13 tds 343 total touches 1 turnover
5.3yrds per touch

His leg is torn up. He’s limping on a wrecked leg. That 4.4 speed is gone.

Btw, teams have been drafting RBs since the league started.

Very few are elite. Most last a season or two at best.

This is why teams pay $$$ for talent.

I understand but I think the league might think about this with the owners. QB's have way 2 much control over what a team does. It must change.

if we learned anything from Michael Gallup, we should let him walk away. He will be decent but not the same guy.

Whatever they do, if anything, would need to be agreed to by the players union.

QBs are in that same union.

The league should come up with some sort of proposal during next round of CBA negotiations, but if it’s about restricting salaries of the players, they will need to offer something significant in return.

I get your point and agree, it’s just a lot more complicated than Goodell or the owners simply saying…”here’s what we are going to do…”

Complicated to where it’ll probably have to correct itself by more teams finding it doesn’t make sense to pay an average QB top dollar.

I think we let him test the FA market and he will be back at a reduced rate. a 3-4 year cheaper deal. But don't guarantee anything.

I have always been in favor of that because good RB's are plentiful and the easiest transition to the NFL.

Mike Shanahan proved this can work and work very well.

If teams start holding fast to not paying QB's huge money (could never get all FO's to agree) QB's will start moving alot, tell me again what the most known player on each team is to the common fan? We are asking a league who openly says its about revenue to do something that will hurt thier revenue...Will they think of a way to keep QB's off the cap, maybe, are they going to like 10 to 12 QB's switching teams each year... no not from a revenue standpoint.

Except for the Pollard part, this sounds good. It costs 10 million to tag Pollard. Drafting young legs and putting 10 million in to offensive or defensive lines is a much better value. And Pollard will falter; he usually gets hurt at some point in season anyways even with limited carries and now is coming off injury too.

The more I think on it, it may be best to allow Pollard to test the market…..without the tag of course.

Im not sure how many teams are going to make big offers for RBs coming off injury with a deep draft ahead….and one that’s never been the lead dog.

If he gets one Im sure he will give Dallas the shot to match. If not, we will figure it out.

I’d try to retain him reasonably aggressively, but at something that’s better than the 1/10…because if he is a reasonably big part of the offense, we have the same problem next year.

Really, something like 3/20 which is more like 2/12 with the 12 guaranteed, is what’s fair for both sides.

I never want to give a RB a second deal but he doesn’t have a ton of miles on him, and we are in a spot where we don’t really want to move on just yet.
