Yeah if we kept him then we would have someone to start out and hammer for 2 to 4 yards to start the game and a short yardage pick up guy. But at what price. Could have had him cheaper than Pollard. JJ gambled and lost.
Could have resigned him after they let him go, but the fans would have killed Jerry for that. I always liked Zeke but that contract was ridiculous so cutting him was the correct move.

Zeke's time here was simply done. There are always power guys in FA, it's on Jerry for not getting one. That's the job of the GM.

Lmao. He ran like he still had the ball. And he thought he scored and got up and looked for the ball. I think that someone didn’t know the play. Likely Luepke since he hasn’t seen much action. Maybe thought it was a play action but why get up and look for the ball. Lmao. Seemed like a strange game from what little I saw. The usual non calls while Parson gets mugged. Edoga looked horrible. Whiffed on one play really bad. Last time he played ok. Oh well we made the playoffs. Maybe thats why they are playing like this the last few games. We play lions next and they are not going to lay down for us..
i noticed that too,

.. i tend to wonder if Hunter thought he was meant to be a " play action " tool ..instead of the guy that was
supposed to get the ball and bull it in ..

The " rookie-ness " reared it's ugly head ?

and any 4-5 yard run carry would have meant no gain,.. tackled for loss .. because Zeke has no hit the hole burst and quickness.

Zeke is practically a goal line, short yardage specialist at this point of his career.
Sad but this is the act of Garrett just flat out pounding him into the ground whereas he is a flat mere
shell of himself.

it got to a point that they didn't even want rookie young Pollard into the game because he couldn't blitz-block like
Zeke. So Elliott was 3 downs and every game, so that much more wear and toll on his body.

The heck with you Garrett ..!!!

I'm so glad Dallas didnt resign Pollard long term, that wouldve been another huge mistake if he had been. That tackle by db at the half yard line was embarrassing. That play isn't getting talked about enough
Pollard runs to high for a RB, remember my old coach said Low man Wins

Totally agree about Zeke. Wasn’t suggesting him instead of Pollard. Resign him for a goal line hammer, Never was gonna happen, but just thinking out loud.

Not only was it a poor effort, it was terrible technique. You have to get low and power through that tackle.

Pollard got taken down by a left arm. He couldn't overpower this?

i was 100% sure he was going to take it outside, turn on the jets and walk into the endzone but for whatever reason he turned it up field into a pursuit defender... I was very puzzled.

Gotta think had kept Zeke we’d have won this one. And probably at Philly. I know it wasn’t to be, but just unfortunate.
Yup. He had his issues too but the guy was terrific in short yardage and goal line.

The dance doesn't start till the playoffs so we could start going over those games and having those debates then this was just a loss in the regular season we already punched our ticket to the dance so we'll talk about these games the real ones that really matter when we get there but this is on the coaches to be using those other guys more in my opinion hunter Rico and Malik should have been used a lot more but instead they decided to think Tony Pollard all of a sudden was a workhorse back and he is not Tony Pollard is what he is but he can't even be his old self because he's out on the field too much...

Just maybe something's gonna come out of that game even though we lost I like the way they were trying to get the full back more involved and they were using Rico and Malik they need to do that more as we get to the playoffs I want to see next week even more of that start getting paler's legs fresh for the playoff games yes he could still do his old thing where he can come in and get 10 carries and then use them to stretch you know run to the outside but not bang him constantly in short yardage in goal line if anything I got out last night please don't let that be a one off let this be the start of us preparing for the playoffs and that is one way to do it is get all those other guys involved I know hunter didn't get the ball into his arms correctly and fumble that ball but I wanna see him back out there I want to see him get another five or six carries every game all the way into the playoffs we need to start establishing the run and get our short yardage better and this is the time to do it...
....that's problem #1......"the dance doesn't start till the playoffs". So 17 games to watch bad play, penalties, poor execution, undisciplined play, and then poof!!!!.......the things that do not yield wins comes to the dance with you.

Pollard has always been a change of back dude. The person who deserves to be fired is the moron who thought that Pollard was something more.

Actually doesn't you can say that all you want but I watched us get our ***** kicked in the Washington game last year last game of the year then come in and kick the Tampa Bay Buccaneers butts all over the field and absolutely dominated had five touchdowns looked like the team of destiny don't say they were a bad team they still were a playoff team they still won their division and were at home and yet that did not carry over to the next week this is literally a week to week league nothing that's happening right now will not carry over into the playoffs they will have different game plans they will have different packages they will do different things in a playoff game than they are doing right now I do not believe in momentum I do not believe in getting on a late season run so that way the playoffs are better no because if that were true we were like three in one in one of the decembers we beat seven playoff teams last year we beat Tampa Bay in game one absolutely destroyed them none of that helped against the 49ers....

You take each game as a one off the only story of momentum that happens are in the game itself it doesn't carry over I've been watching football for a very long time I don't care what people want to use the old narratives about momentum and it's the way you're playing when you head into the playoffs I don't believe any of that... Parody in the NFL has created a week to week league and anything can happen and then you have the referees getting involved where they're not calling penalties like in our case against one of our best players he should be getting a lot more holding calls yes Mr. Parsons yet they call the penalties on our offensive line for a ticky tack it doesn't make sense but i don't be....'s gonna carry over into the playoffs...

Think what you want feel what you want if you think it's over then why don't you go away pack everything up go on vacation don't come back here and visit don't follow the Cowboys until March then we could pick this back up we get training camp ramp back up you know get the draft ramp back up you can come talk about it then then we can find out what really happened but right now you're trying to put an ending to a story that hasn't even started yet because the playoffs are their own season that's why records don't carry over that's why 0 nothing they do in the playoffs 0-0 nothing they do in the regular season will affect the playoffs..

That's why right now if Mike McCarthy is smart he's probably not gonna bring back tyron Smith maybe even give Zach Martin and anybody else who needs some time off I don't care we have the lions and the Washington to play you have to start thinking about being healthy and having all your players available for game one in the playoffs... You can't sit everyone but tyron Smith is a guy you don't need him to practice or playing a game to be ready and I'm saying right now if he has a bad back why bring him into the Detroit or the Washington game they pretty much don't matter I mean I wanna win both those games but at the same time I'd rather have our backup playing until game one of the playoffs... So again I wanna play to win but anyone who's banged up anyone who needs some time off or not getting a buy so they need to start thinking about pulling guys early in games I'm not saying sit everyone but the people that you can afford to start pulling out or not play a whole game it's time to start thinking about that that is the only thing that's going to affect the playoffs is having our guys fresh and healthy and that also means using Tony Pollard a lot less getting his legs fresh they need a plan..

A lot to read but respectful of your analysis......to help......If you're looking for consistent good play this late in the season......it may not be there in the playoffs too. As for health, No NFL team is healthy after Week 1. Ravens been purged with key injuries......can't tell. We're not good enough to think we can turn it on like a light switch.

Well sounds like you've already packed it in made-up your mind again I'll stand by my original response why don't you delete your accounts anything cowboy related and just move on and we'll see you in March put it all on hold because I don't wanna hear about how we're not gonna do this and that when the games are not being played yet...

I'm sick of it you think anything that's happened in the past or even this year is gonna affect us in the playoffs I say you're seriously delusional this is a week to week league it's crazy how things change for all the teams like the Ravens 49ers Eagles have all had their struggles some of them have barely won some of their games but nobody talks about it they both went on three-game losing streaks the Ravens are well known for collapsing but that doesn't matter once you get in the playoffs

and when we're talking about health it means not losing your key players for the year like last year we lost Terrence Steele this year we lost Trayvon diggs but right now the team as it is if we can get into the playoffs without losing another player that can't be played that game that will be part of our success look at what happened to the 49ers and look how easy it was for the Eagles to have to play the giants who just about anybody could have beaten the playoffs except for while the Vikings but anybody could beat them too and then get to play the 49ers with their third string quarterback that's what I'm talking about about luck I believe the 49ers would have beat the Eagles and been playing in the Super bowl had they not lost Brock Purdy we need to keep that from happening to have a shot in the playoffs I'm saying if we have this team right now as it's assembled not lose another player and can put that same roster on the field in the playoffs without losing a key player from here on out

we have a shot... I'm not talking about the banged up players that's the whole point I'm talking about getting the ones like tyron Smith who's not out for the year Zach Martin Tony Pollard get him fresher it get some of the dudes that really need it there's many snaps off between now and the playoffs and hope that you have the luck that someone like Prescott doesn't get knocked out we have every bit of shot in the playoffs is anybody else I've been watching this all year it is a week to week league and there isn't any scary teams out there and I don't care how bad the 49ers beat us a couple of months ago I still say we could beat them it's gonna take a clean game with as many healthy players as we can bring to that game but they are not unbeatable..

I will say it.

Last year's tampa? We "kicked the butts" of an 8-9 LOSER team?

Well by gosh what an AMAZING lifetime achievement!

Tell me how many LOSER 8-9 teams make the playoffs. Backed into the playoffs because their division was even WORSE that's how they made it in the first place.

That was a bad team bro. Face it. The record tells you it's a FACT an no amount of spin by delusional people changes any of it.

he outruns that guy to the pylon last year instead of cutting it back inside. This play is a clear cut example of the quickness/explosiveness he has lost.
That play didn't even need explosiveness.. just awareness. If he puts the ball in his outside arm instead of keeping it inside he reaches the ball out easily over the goal line as he's being tackled. As it was he kept the ball on the inside which allowed the defender to tackle the ball. Put the ball in the outside arm.. stiff arm the defender with the inside arm and reach the ball out over the goal line. Should have been an easy TD. Since it was a pitch there was no reason for the ball to have ever been in the inside arm.
