I'm so glad Dallas didnt resign Pollard long term, that wouldve been another huge mistake if he had been. That tackle by db at the half yard line was embarrassing. That play isn't getting talked about enough
Yup. Pollard just isn't the guy to put his head down and get it in the end zone. Space back.

He’s been disappointing this year and I was a big Pollard guy. Not sure if they told him to gain weight to handle the load of being the primary back or if it’s the injury, but he’s missing that juice/elusiveness he used to have.
That juice is for the open field. Doesn't work inside.

I like Pollard but I agree that was terrible effort to score.
Pollard is a fraud!!!!!!!!!!!!! He ran ZEK out of town with his little dance moves and now we're stuck with a joke of a RB!

Cant believe that was basically the difference in the game.

And to top that all off.... his effort on that play forced Leupke in the game, and we know what happened there.
just backbreaking

Zeke saw the endzone yesterday, Pollard didn't.
Right all the talking here was last year Pollard was ripped off because he'd get the ball close to the goal line and then they brought in zeke to finish it off and that he would have all those touchdowns as well well you know what people everyone who thought that were very wrong zeke was getting 900 yards and 12 touchdowns on a bad leg you know that serious thigh bruise that Zach Martin got well he got that and his knee last year in the mid season before that zeke was playing really well but either way 12 touchdowns is hard to do and yet people underestimated and underappreciated what zeke did around here not saying zeke shouldn't have been cut but maybe he should have been brought back but if the Cowboys would have brought them back they would have just called Jerry nepotism that he's just liked his guys and he can't let go and blah blah blah and really power doesn't look the same without zeke here he's lost his explosiveness they're using him too much in short yardage he's on the field too much doing the other things The Dirty work the blocking and all that and he has lost a step for $10 million he's now underperforming and has to take his medicine turn about his fair play Pollard should have scored from there he should have went and stretched that play to the pylon and made an effort to get over the line at all costs and not head straight into the tackles and then maybe that hunter play never happens but we'll never know but I know this if zeke got to the one yard line he's not having his body turned and pulled backwards he gets in if he's that close with any momentum whatsoever....

Yeah I think the scheme is part of the issue but he looks noticeably slower this year.
He looks slower because y'all don't understand he got his speed from his lack of use like his snap count we're not talking about just carries this man's on the field blocking now he's doing more short yardage he's doing all The Dirty work he's on the field for decoys he's running routes where he's not getting the football he's playing an excessive amount of snaps has taken away his fresh legs and that's why he looks slower his burst came from sitting around watching zeke do all The Dirty work and then he came in and was able to be himself well apparently the coaching staff decided that they were not gonna use Malik or Rico or hunter more throughout the season to keep Tony fresh they made Tony the number one back and he's on the field getting all the snaps not just the carries the snaps and it's too much for a player like him.... He's better coming in splitting carries but not having to do The Dirty work he's on the field way too much now for the type of player he is

Really was. He has to score there... seemed he almost went out his way to NOT score.

One of the strangest goal-line tackles I've ever seen.

Blaming Pollard is lazy.

Its the blocking.

He showed poor effort at the goal line today but our run game sucks because we can’t block well.

Has nothing to do with Pollard.
i think it's coaching first ...

OL second

Pollard's skill set is not just running the ball. . he has value in pass game, if our coaches would have developed and schemed him as such.

Pollard wheel route TD vs Vikes :

Pollard should not have been tagged. He got injured and I doubt anyone would have offered him a big contract. We could have picked him up cheaper. He is not a starter. When we run Dowdle early and get him involved then Pollard looks better. He was a change of pace back. I know Luepke fumbled and maybe that’s why he had only gotten 3 carry’s before yesterday but I think he needs to be used in the rotation. I thought we brought a RB up from practice squad also. We got Deuce snd he never sees the field. It’s just a really sad effort on the part of The Cowboys to address the RB position. We wonder why we are not running the ball very well. We are depending on putting the ball in the air to much..

What little I saw of the game there was a few plays that looked intentional. Edoga looked right at chubb on one play and looked like he moved out of his way as quick as he could. Luekpe ran without the ball like he was a decoy. The refs watched Parsons get put in a choke hold while reaching out to grab tua.

Yeah, and I'm still not sure it was Hunter that fumbled. One of the weirdest fumbles I've ever seen.

Lmao. He ran like he still had the ball. And he thought he scored and got up and looked for the ball. I think that someone didn’t know the play. Likely Luepke since he hasn’t seen much action. Maybe thought it was a play action but why get up and look for the ball. Lmao. Seemed like a strange game from what little I saw. The usual non calls while Parson gets mugged. Edoga looked horrible. Whiffed on one play really bad. Last time he played ok. Oh well we made the playoffs. Maybe thats why they are playing like this the last few games. We play lions next and they are not going to lay down for us..

....well said. Truth & reality hurts sometimes. I think some got caught in the "fantasy football" world instead of examining fit, use, cog, chemistry, dual threats, and link to this team. Ran a model teammate out of town.

Right I mean Jerry Jones wouldn't have been able to win this at all everyone knew zeke needed to be cut so he did the right thing but if he tried to bring zeke back this place would have just went berserk with the daddy son nepotism thing with the love for his players that we like our guys thing and they never would have let him live that down but now in hindsight people are saying we should have brought zeke back but that's not what would have been said here had that had happened they'll say he can't let go just like he brought Witten back and got hell for that they IE the fans the social media places like this would have burned Jerry Jones to the ground for bringing zeke back even though it would have been the right thing to do in my opinion...

and here's why,

I believe Tony Pollard is being used improperly because they feel at $10 million he earned his right to be the number one running back and they're gonna have him out on the field for all the snaps the blocking the short yardage the passing routes and all the decoy stuff that he's gonna do which are total snaps on the field because they don't feel like they have a better option even though they should have been using Rico and Malik and hunter a lot more before this game and I did like this game plan using the fullback more but they should have been doing it for weeks...

Now my point about zeke if Ezekiel Elliott would have been here he has the name and the recognition and the respect from the coaches they would have used him a lot more in those situations than they are using Rico and Malik and hunter he would have got those carries they wouldn't have minded taking those away from Pollard... But because those other guys are not see they don't have the respect from the locker room or the coaches they're giving Pollard carries he should not be getting or staying in on snaps to block or short yarders that he should not be getting at the goal line if zeke was here that play(s) would have went to zeke..

So for whatever reason the coaches are apprehensive to use the other guys they would not have had an issue using zeke and that alone is why they would have brought him back under a cheaper contract and let them be that dirty work guy here and still let Pollard get a lot of carries it's not the carries it's the load of everything else with the blocking and everything that's taking away pollard's burst...

.....then you get what you pay for, you play with the 53-man roster, and you live and die with who you bring to the dance.......now that was simple.
