Yes sir! I had this opinion on other message boards and they think it is sacrilege to hate GNR. I just think they are a basic hair/glam metal band that got popular from one album. After that, they drifted off. I can't stand Axel Rose or his voice. And I just hate all hair/glam metal, which is what they are. Slash is cool like you said. And yeah, their music has little value or substance.

I kind of have the same views on Pantera but I think they are better than GNR and I enjoy some of their songs. But they are pretty much the pioneers of the nu-metal sound and that's not my cup of tea.

I don't like 80s metal. It was all about babes and hooking up and partying.

Poison is most certainly garbage, but we'd both have to agree that's hair metal.

I love 80s music (Joel, Young, Non-gospel Dylan phases, INXS, Journey [somewhat], Simon, Gabriel, etc), just not the metal. The transition from the greatness of the 70's to that of the greatness of the early 90's (Lo-fi, shoegaze, grunge, etc)... you just have this low hanging fruit of a weird time in music (Metal, and again, for me), where it was more anthemic and shallow and party/sex based. Whether fair or not.

Never heard it called shoegaze before......I always refer to it as "mope rock". Don't get the fascination with the "o woe is me, my life is so hard while im injecting heroin and cashing royalty checks" nonsense.

Yes, imo they were Hair. But they were also metal, as I stated in my post.

Those Black Crows and Counting Crows songs... That "Hey baby here I am" I hate that song!!! That Mrs. Jones song is annoying also. That 90s period sucked. These so called In Tune with their Feelings as Music Artists... Just that period I hated. That female piano singer gyrating on her piano stool . This what the period we had crap like that "I kissed a girl" song...Alanis Morisette with that "I'm a B**** crap songs like this. They wanted to be the 60's so bad and they were crap

Bought the live at the Greek CD the Black Crowes made with Jimmy Page just to satisfy my never-ending love of all things Zeppelin and wasn't very impressed. His voice was kinda ho-hum.
