Explain why he didn't. Yours is a team that pays players more money than any other franchise, it was the team that drafted him, and he was having success. Why did he want to leave?

I asked you a pointed question about this. Let's ask it again. Have you considered that there might be more to it? The media can't write a synopsis of every single word said and action taken. So in their articles they outline a pattern.

You seem to want it to say more. That's ridiculous.

By all means tell us what the more to this story (Champ Bailey being traded) is. We'd all like to know. Tell us why he wanted to leave. Tell us why it was impossible to keep him. Tell us why Shawn Springs got more money than Bailey. Tell us why you couldn't draft a RB instead of sell the farm for the one you got.

The bottom line is you feel picked upon because I have the temerity to think you're taking your team's side over your player's sides. In this case you are. "Ever think there might be more to a story than what the media reports?" That's what you asked us. The implication you want us to have is that the team just may be in the right.

Hey, if that's what you believe then good for you. I think it's really naive given the pattern of mismanagement, but that's just me. I'm a cynic that way and always have been.

if your so curious to know, there were reports that went out by the sports reporters and Doc Walker stating that bailey was forced to leave due to some personal issues.

personal issues, eh? still being very vague. Does not seem like he has had any "personal issues" in Denver for the last 3 years.

Bottom line is this: Bailey was a better CB then Portis was a RB even then- and Bailey has gotten better while Portis has NOT. Even if they had been of equal ability in their respective areas its always STUPID to trade or let go of a TOP CB. RBs can be had that will get the job done- how much did you have to pay Betts who was producing about as good as Portis was? Meanwhile you are STILL trying to replace Bailey in your secondary. It was then and always will be a STUPID deal.

It's not stupid to RedStinks fans. When you get down on your hands and knees and lick the boots of St. Gibbs...nothing is going to be his fault! It's ALWAYS the departing player(s) that are to blame.

No! Not Lil Midget or St. Gibbs! Nooooooooooooo!

Don't forget that the Commanders threw in a 2nd rounder in that trade which netted Tatum Bell for the Broncos.

I'm not sure what the Commander fan was alluring to with there might be more to the story than what was reported by the media but from what I've read in the past, Bailey had did not like the several clauses in the Commanders deal as well as its overall structure and he came to conclusion that he was not getting anywhere with the Commanders FO that was the reason why he seeked the trade

you said it was personal? not liking your contract cause the skins way overspend on shiney objects that net them nothing so they can't afford to pay the few stars they *do* have is just bad business.

so what's "personal" if this isn't it?

Not near enough solid info here. Just speculation, which is less than the article you told us wasn't telling the whole story.

I can't say I'm surprised.

He does not KNOW, iceberg! Haven't you become familiar with this guy yet? He has nothing to say...except it HAS TO BE someone else's fault...there HAS to be something else causing players to want to leave! This kid will not ever lay any blame on the FO or anyone else....nope, it's always, always, someone else's fault!

Pretty pathetic if you ask me!

I think the Skin's front office will see more and more problems with their players. They pay such huge amounts of money to average players...when it comes time to actually pay good players, they almost have to lowball them.

I really think the Skins could be a team that wins year in and year out. But Snyder is a "microwave" owner....he doesn't want to wait to develop a team.

This is where Jerry is head and shoulders above him as an owner. He understands that you must draft well to develop a contender year in and year out.

Unfortuately, it took Jerry a few years to actually figure out how to draft good players. I think we're seeing it start to pay off.

We need to thank Jeff Ireland as well as our lucky stars that he is there. Ireland would nix all the Quincy Carter debacles on draft day.

This reminds me of something I heard on ESPN or NFL Network last week. Someone interviewed Gibbs and asked him about trading for a vet D-lineman since they didn't draft any this year. Gibbs said probably not because the Redstinks wanted to keep all their draft choices for next year. April 2008 is a loooooong way off. We'll see how things work out.
