No, they got better because Gore was in his 2nd year and was getting all the carries instead of Kevin Barlow, who weighed the team's 2005 overall YPC stats down significantly with his 3.3 YPC.Joe Rod;1343455 said:Because of scheme. Gore stats and the teams stats improved when Turner got there. It's okay that you don't want to admit it. Stats are Stats.

Sorry, but dem's da stats. Ignore them if you like.
Your argument is that Gore said so? That's not refuting or countering my fact-based argument. That's taking one man's opinion (which is highly suspect) and offering it as an argument.Joe Rod;1343491 said:Okay, here is my counter to your whole Gore argument:
- I reiterate Gore's first year, rookie or not, was not as good as his second.
- Gore has gone on record as crediting Turner. in a 12/28/06 article in the USA Today, Gore is quoted as saying this about Turner: "All the great backs he's coached — he's made me better".
- The 49ers tried to give him a big raise not to leave.
The stats, Frank Gore himself, and the offer of a big raise from the 49ers favor my side of this argument.
You can't see it, but I am doing the MC Hammer in my office right now.

Frank Gore's #s improved because he was in his 2nd year. The team's overall #s improved because Gore got all the carries instead of Kevin Barlow. This should blindingly obvious to anyone who isn't just doing everything they can to find a way to be happy about Norv Turner.
Frank Gore was an elite back in college that got injured. Once recovered from those injuries he's become an elite back in the NFL. Frank Gore is Frank Gore because he's Frank Gore. A monkey could coach him.
No, the stats support my conclusion. You ignore them. I've explained this to you, but you're obviously unable to comprehend.Joe Rod;1343508 said:I figured you would ignore the stats that support better running game and better individual effort, Frank Gore's own opinion (call me crazy, but he would know better than you) and the 49ers believing him responsible for their success to the tune of trying to raise him to keep him. It's a shame that you can't just say you are wrong, but I'm dancing anyway.
The only thing you have is your opinion and that contradicts the guy you are trying to support!

Frank Gore has always been a great back when healthy, and the man

Think what he would have done if he wouldn't have been damaged goods.
The 9ers hit the jackpot on a nickel machine. Norv had nothing to do with it.CaptainAmerica;1343516 said:I have a good friend who follows the Boys and the Canes and he told me when Frank Gore was just a freshman at The U that the coaches were saying Gore could be better than any back they ever had down there.

2. Julius Jones's can be next year's Gore.
3. Jason Witten will get better.
4. This year's draft. He just coached in the Senior Bowl.
theogt;1343329 said:Not really.
You're going to argue that players don't typically get better in their 2nd year? Are you serious or this a joke someone is playing on me? No one could be this ignorant.Joe Rod;1343522 said:What stats? All you are telling me is that he is in his second year and that doesn't mean much. Running Backs regress in their second year all the time (see Julius Jones). If you are going to launch a facts based argument, you really need to present better facts. If Frank Gore states that Turner made him better and Frank Gore's stats support what Frank Gore himself has said, then you are arguing against the person you are trying to support. I hope for the sake of potential Clients that you are not an attorney.
