Positives and negatives from this game vs Seattle?

Caron is frustrating, will make a good play then a bad play. But bottom line you can not commit that many penalties even though not sure the PI was a PI. But you can't hurt your team with penalties.
Agreed, but he was sticking his nose in there and making tackles. That was my point. The defense was attacking once they settled down after that first drive.

Agreed.

Milton especially for me.
They need to swap them next week so Howell plays with and against 2nd teamers, and Milton the third teamers.

Milton played against third string defensive backs. But he threw with confidence, yes.

Honestly, I think they've already decided on Howell as the backup.

It's one game, and a preseason game at that. Backups and scrubs playing against backups and scrubs.

Camden Brown made a statement for himself. Let's see how he does the next 2 games. Overall I think the Cowboys have some talent at WR and RB. Nobody great but guys who look like they can play in the NFL. Traeshon Holden looks like he may have something in him but he looks a bit raw to me. If he can smooth out some of the rough edges I think he might be a player someday.

Malik Davis is a good RB. He just has a knack for running up the middle and finding the seams to squeeze through for yards.

I think the first half tells more than the second. The better backups are in at that point in the game so you get a better sense of how good the backups are.

I was positively surprised by how well the two QBs played, especially Milton. I had low expectations for him and he exceeded them.

After 1 game is is looking like the Cowboys will have some tough decisions to make at WR and RB. There are a few guys who show some skills and a few who show potential. If they all play like they did last night for the next 2 games, it's going to be tough to decide who to keep and who to cut.

Ok are you suggesting coaches don't matter at all? Because that's the other extreme and I don't think that's fair. If anything Indy was the fluke and Eberflus kind of proved in Chicago that he wasn't a great coach and then backed it up in Dallas. But yes maybe when everything is going his way with the personnel then he makes it work. Parker impressed me more in one preseason game than Eberflus did his entire tenure in Dallas. We have no idea if it will work out and we shouldn't take much from a preseason game but he did his job well tonight and that's more than I can say for Eberflus in Dallas.
Nope, that's a strawman's argument. I'm saying, nay screaming, that you have to have coaching and talent.

Parker w/ last year's group would've only done slightly better. Maybe 28th instead of 30th.

No, here's where you got it wrong. Eber proved he wasn't a good HC.

Question: Why does everything have to be extreme? I love Parker so far. Eber was like a middle of the pack DC, neither great nor horrible. However, no DC in the history of the NFL has gotten it done w/ no talent. The closest is Bellychickens, who could make a B player out of a C/D player. And even he lost to the Eagles in the super bowl due to not having enough talent on D.

It's so weird, you go to the extreme, and then accuse me of going to the extreme.

Really?

I’d think just the opposite.

Milton has abilities that Howell just doesn’t.

I wonder if Milton might be the heir apparent.

Oh my gawd, no. That's the first time Milton has even looked like he may belong in the league. He was an embarrassment last year.

Howell has actually played well as a starter in the NFL, albeit on a bad team.

Howell has a good arm and can run, too, and he can read real NFL defenses. Milton looks lost in actual regular season action.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. From what I saw, he was mostly throwing to wide open WRs last night.

Loved what I saw from Brown, Houston, Trigg, Woods, Marist

Cons: PENALTIES, yes it was backups, but it just seems like this team can't stay onsides on offense, like we're cursed!

#21 Carson, uhhhh!!!
You forgot to mention the great game Malachi Lawrence had.......LOL!!!!!!!

Last year, they had 19 missed tackles in preseason game 1. Last night, they had 0. They're off to a good start.

offense:wr camden brown.
defense:lb shemar james.

after the 1st series, the defense really did well.
in the 2nd half, oline looked better.
really like the depth and how the played over all.
#30 should be our rb2.
wanted to see more from blue.

joe milton is our qb2.

I think that Davis could very well make the team. Overall our backup running backs are solid.
I agree the guy deserves a chance Kind of like what happened to Rico it took awhile and then it started working out Now he's not here but I think it would be a mistake for them right now to not be looking strongly from what I saw practice scrimmages and now preseason this kid Israel whatever his last name is I'm gonna call him Izzy this running back is not only big but he's got more moves than even Williams i'm not saying he's just start but if you're looking for a guy they said they like big backs and you can use Blue or Davis as your change of pace guy I would keep Izzy right now number two on the depth chart if we were playing on Sunday..

I don't think I'm overreacting the guy is what Schottenheimer likes he's a big back but he also has a little more speed and a little more wiggle than Williams Why wouldn't you think he would keep him.. Think they got lucky with this guy and sometimes that happens you just fall into something Yeah Miami was deep with running backs they let this guy go and now we got him and I just right now I'm talking about I just think he's number two on the depth chart..

I could see Howell being it too, I swear I saw a glimpse of Romo in that guy!!! They both can use their legs to run (Milton is much better obviously) but howell was able to move a bit to extend the play
