Teams evaluate players in context of all factors. Boise State was outmanned talent-wise across the board. This cannot be overstated. Boise State just signed its first 5-Star recruit in the history of its program last year.

Not to mention Penn State game planned to stop Jeanty from breaking Sanders record. A player’s stock is not as volatile as you’re thinking (i.e., game-to-game). Jeanty has back-to-back 1,500+ yard seasons; teams have a feel for the type of prospect he is.

well if you are talking turning the tide in a game there is John Riggins in the SB vs the Fins when the skins were pretty much on the ropes and he just bulled his way to a big TD and then some important first downs as well afterwards
