I will wait until the draft is over, before I pass judgment.
..how the hell did Hill land on starting spot? I mean, the guy had few splash plays last year. Gator Rolls dont count. C'mon Jerry get some Duracell Batts in there. It starts up front with DL.
Getting Neal and moving him to WILL is going to give the other two their swagger back. Nolan killed their confidence. Im wagering they will look like they did in ‘18. Teams are going to be afraid of Neal being so close to the LOS.
Serious question to answer ........will the changes on defense be enough? We've added three new players, ( four if you include Gregory). Are they truly upgrades are replacements. In other words, how much of an upgrade is Neal over Joe Thomas at LBer or Kazee over Woods for a team the finished dead last. The bottom line, it appears the FO is saying last year's defensive issues were more Nolan/scheme than talent.
He needs to be the swing tackle - we need a mauler at LG and he ain’t it. Give me the kid from UW-Whitewater or wherever from the Senior Bowl.
I sure hope so. The overall investment in the linebacker positions is ridiculous! Especially given the middling returns.
The continued investment in Jaylon was ridiculous. 7.2mil, gtd, and that's *after* we had signed Neal to take nickel WLB snaps, and Basham as a potential stand up LB.
Jaylon is the piece that makes no sense here. The worst part is knowing that our high priced short timers are going to keep any young guy off the field. Ugh.
They can’t possibly recoup their investments there. Certainly not by having the league’s highest-paid, part-time strong-side linebacker in Jaylon Smith.
Well you’re welcome to your opinion but I totally disagree. If it wasn’t for Hill Mahomes doesn’t beat San Francisco last year. Thank God for those Hill Mary’sWell, I guess you could point to coaching as to the reason for the Chief’s success and not Mahomes, Hill, and Kelce. But, I think that would be stupid.
So the starting corners would be 1st and 2nd year year players with trash Safety play so they won’t be able to hide their mistakes (whether they are good or bad they will make them early in their careers).
So basically once again it’s a bottom 10 defense.
Seattle has Adams at Safety and the Seattle defense is maybe worse than the Cowboy defense. Seattle doesn't have many draft picks to fix their defense. No first rounder and only 3 picks total.

My question is still why McCarthy judged Nolen as the right DC. Quinn is an upgrade from the jump we're better. Of course we need better players
Which will hurt them in two years, but if you are drafting to find a starter, then they are going to be below average year 1. That is just what rookies are the overwhelming majority of the time. A lot of growth happens between years 1 and 2. I would give Seattle the better front 7 right now, they certainly are better at LB, and probably a better secondary but not by much.
