Sensational win by our guys tonight. I wanted them to win but like many, figured we'd get beaten and most likely beaten bad. I admit it, I totally thought this team was toast after the last two weeks, they manned up tonight and played a bigtime game. I'll take my crow served hot or cold.

1) Tony Romo is playing excellent football, and tonight was a great, great effort. Nobody can pin any December swoon on him this yr.

2) 36 runs, 37 passes...great balance...good enough run game to keep it going...great play-action game tonight, the Saints bit badly on virtually every oneof them. Held the ball almost 37 minutes. Garrett and the other coaches put together a great game plan and he called an excellent game. The first two drives of the game (and most of the third) and the opening second half drive, then the last drive to set up the FG were as good as we've played in quite some time.

3) Defensively what can anyone say except that was a "winning" effort. They got 4 (really 5) sacks on Brees, who'd only been sacked 15 times all yr. Other than 1 or 2 runs, the Saints did nothing on the gound. We only got hurt by one screen. No deep balls given up. Forced 3 turnovers, all at key moments. We blast the guy for everything, so you gotta hand it to Wade tonight. And they came up huge after that deflating FG miss.

4) A game where we get 3 turnovers, give up none, have no false start penalties on the road in one of the loudest, most hostile stadiums in football. A+ effort by the OL, who I believe had only one penalty and other than three or four plays they struggled with blitz protection, solid effort all the way around.

5) D Ware and Anthony Spencer tore the Saints tackles some new ones tonight.

6) Roy Williams, you just cant drop that pass in that situation. You just cant. Nick Folk, well. Unbelievable how far this guy has fallen but Parcells once said here that once a kicker loses it mentally, he's through. I cant believe he missed a 24yd FG lined up right in the middle. They gotta cut him or at the least shut him down the rest of the yr. Raise your hands if you thought OT was a definite after Folk blew that kick (yeah, mine's up)

7) Mike Jenkins is turning into a bigtime NFL player. Miles Austin is also a bigtime NFL player. People laughed at Jerruh for saying he thought Austin was a legit replacement for TO, and he was on the nose. He suggested in the spring Austin might be a legit #1 WR, when alot of people were hoping we'd get a 2nd rd pick for him as RFA compensation.

8) Nice games by John Phillips and Kevin Ogletree. Ogletree and Crayton came up with two big time catches tonight. On Phillips, he catches a career high 3 passes and how smart was it to turn that last one back inside a bit and keep that clock going. Alot of guys whould have been content to get that first down and run out of bounds.

Great win tonight, hoepfully it carries over to next week in Washington.

That can't be, Jerry aint a football guy.

Good observations. Our D played lights out. They could have had even more sacks if we would have gotten some middle pressure and kept Brees from stepping up in the pocket.

I think going forward Wade shoudl play Victor a lot, I like have Ware fresh in the fourth.

Yep, I already finished my crow and it tastes good hot and Cold. I ate twice for good measure. I seriously didn't think cowboys had a chance, and I still can't believe how well the D played.

Mike Jenkins is turning into a stud, and so is Spencer. Yep, Folk cut time is pretty much a no brainer now. Too bad, I hoped after he made the 40 something yarder right in the middle, he might turn it around. My Brother who saw the game with me, was sayhing he was afraid that Folk was goign to miss the gimme. I was just shocked when he missed it.

But had a feeling someone on D would make a big play, but got nervous still. Ware was the man.

I think if D plays like this again, I doubt Washington should be too much of problem. But again, its hard to trust this team, but a win like this team can pretty much be a turning point for any team.

Butler should definitely be worked into the mix so Ware can be fresher for those 3rd downs. I want to see it look like Ware is shot out of the cannon more often with those fresh legs of his.

Maybe next year with Butler and BWilliams, we can get Spencer and Ware plenty of breaks.

Hopefully we can find a more reliable NT and get Ratliff some more rest, too. The best thing might be just to move Spears to NT for some more snaps so Rat can be fresh too.

.

The two sacks Spencer had, I believe the Saints missed their assignments and he was completely unblocked.

Good post. Agree with pretty much everything you said.

We will remember tonight as the signature game if we have any future success year. This will be the turnaround game

I gotta say it again...notice that we didn't go with Shotgun play after play? I think he either listened to Bob from BaD Radio or he learned from Norv.

I also noticed that almost everytime we went Shotgun, they rushed an extra guy....nearly every time.

Those werent the only plays he got pressure though, he had another sack negated by Scandrick's penalty and he got several other pressures...also got massively held on that pass Henderson dropped in the endzone, or he would have got a sack then too

I have a huge man crush on Jenkins.. He is the best player in our secondary. This is only his second season. Just think of how much better he is going to get.

He also popped Brees near the end when they did that booth review...

The one at the end too. He almost made Brees fumble but it was determined that his arm was coming forward. Spencer had a good game nonetheless.

Yep...that was VERY close to a fumble. Great play by Spencer.

He really is having a very good all around yr.

Our defense came up really big after the missed FG, although Carpenter's decision making on 4th and 10 left something to be desired. We started to doubt ourselves there a little in the 4th, but pulled it together in the nick of time.

Agree totally on Roy. He can't drop that pass, yet he did.

Since the play occured outside of 5 minutes remaining, whether Phillips went out of bounds or not is a moot point.

Great observations.

Dallas out rushed them 145 to 63, I think.

That will get it done.

Mike Jenkins should be in the Pro Bowl this year, but he will not make it.

He almost got a pick 6, too.

I thought TNEW missed a chance for a pick six tonight, but he was solid in coverage.

I think the coaches are going to give Ware a little more rest from now on. He was much more effective when he isn't playing 90 snaps a game. The defense played well enough when he wasn't in there to give them enough confidence to rest him some.

Butler, Ogletree, Phillips, and Beuler... all rookies and all contributed tonight. Not bad in such a hostile environment as the dome, against a team as good as the Saints are this year. If you look at what our second year players did in Felix, Jenkins, and Scandrick, it becomes pretty evident that the Cowboys have been drafting well.

I can't wait to see Hodge, Williams (both of them actually), and Brewster next year.

I agree with you, I thought this team would be buried and I am still not completely sold but we did play a complete game.

Romo has not been the problem this year in December in my view, it was simply the team.

Ware is the best and Jenkins is emerging giving me hope for the secondary.
