Yup, I'm out of hope. There is no sense in being angry at this team. They're just not very good.

But the worst part is that I have no idea how this team comes back improved next year. I'm sure Wade will be gone but I don't think the answer is having Garrett become the face of this team which leaves us with an outsider. I'm not excited about that either.

Granted, I'm probably not thinking very clearly at the moment but I'll tell you who might be the best choices for this team right now - Marty Schottenheimer or Dan Reeves. Both win wherever they go and do so in short order. I think both do a very good job of getting the most out of their talent. Now the big knock is that they can't ultimately get you over the hump but we can't even sniff that hump right now.

So maybe first things first. Get this team to play up to and maybe even over their heads at times.

Too much talent? Where?Seems like its only in our eyes there is too much talent. REmember Getting Rid of Zimmer was going to make this D better? How did that work out? I remember several fans were happy that Peyton left, since he was wasting the talent on this roster. How is that working so far?

Fans and Media seem to keep buying Cowboys have this talent and is being wasted. Maybe people need to open their and see what this team is about. They have maybe 3-4 great/good players. Rest of them are way overrated.

On top of it, several of them have 10 cent heads. But they can sure talk a good game to media though.

Talent that doesn't produce over the course of several years under different coaches is not talented in any meaningful sense of the term.

Saying that the team is too talented to play at this level implicates everyone, players and coaches, except for the individual responsible for assembling the supposed talent.

1) 3 straight runs from inside the 1, we turn it over on downs. That sums up this entire season IMO. This team just doesnt have the will or desire to be a championship team, and its a direct reflection of the coaching staff. Our OL is the absolute picture of mediocrity. Some people will bash the playcalling, yet earlier in the yr when we didnt run the ball people complained about that. We didnt score because those guys up front failed miserably, period. It had nothing to do with what play was called or who ran it, they just failed.

I understand what you mean. But isn't JG setting up the offensive line to fail with a playcall like that. I seriously think that in situations of 4th & 1 or less,we have ran that play EVERY time. If you are a DL or LB, and you see MBII at FB, you are just gonna plug the middle ASAP. I remember yelling at the TV the last time, maybe against the Commanders, when we failed because everyone knew we were gonna hand the ball off to the "full back". Oh wait..whats this??....its Marion Barber!!

I know one play doesn't win or lose a game or season, but this stupid play call is the epitome of why I don't like Jason Garrett and hope he is not or next HC, or at least not still calling plays. Just seems a little stubborn to me, especially on such an important play in the game.

Disappointing day, another wasted season seems likely. Too much talent to not be better than this. Hopefully Jones sees the light.
Totally agree except for the too much talent. We have very few playmakers and we just lost our best player today. For a few weeks anyway.

On Jones seeing the light, maybe Stephen can talk some sense into him. Doubt it.

excellent post as usual

our playmakers are poorly coached and put IN POSITION TO FAIL. see barber at goal line.

we lack talent in D but we're so easily out-schemed it's like taking candy from a baby. watch how badly brady james is abused next week.

Let me deal with this brilliant gem. We pounded the ball down the field successfully because we were changing it up. Then we get down to the goal line and pretty much ran the exact same play 3 times in a row and you can't see that the play calling set up these guys to fail????

The reason why this guy is a failure is because he is either run run run only or he's pass pass pass only. Somewhere along the way he lost his balance. Garrett can't possibly be this dumb, if you ask me I think he does it on purpose. He is deliberately sabotaging this team with crappy play calling, nobody can be this dumb. He pads his stats against scrubs to keep his image up but then he throws games against better teams.

The bottom line is that you can't only run or pass, you gotta mix it up or at least create the illusion that you will. Predictability doesn't give this team the edge it needs to succeed, instead it sets this team up to fail consistently. That's why we call out your boy Opie Taylor...

So Tecmo is deliberately sabotaging the team??? Why would he throw games on purpose and especially in a way that makes him look like he doesnt know what to do??? What benefit would there be to that???

I think he is just totally incompetent, not throwing games on purpose.

Sorry David but you and alot people on this board over estimate the talent on this roster. Too me the roster could use upgrading at all but a handful of positions, starting with the O Line and secondary. I will agree that a soft coach certainly does not help a roster full of soft under achievers. The Folk/ holder issue epitimzes everything that is wrong with this team right now. Nobody ever is held accountable for their short comings.

I agree. Our OL is severely overrated. Our WR's, as a group, are way overrated, our secondary is overrated as well as our pass rush. We force NO turnovers.

I've said this countless times, many of our fans and countless analysts keep saying we have as much talent as anyone in the league, we are just not getting the most out of it.

Well, I agree we are probably not getting the most out of our players, but on the other hand, you can't get blood from a stone. Our talent base is overrated IMO.

We have a LOT of work to do to be on the level of the Colts/Saints.......a lot.

Just lost to one of the best, if not the best team right now in the NFL - while missing one FG and getting stuffed on the 1 yard line - which 99% of the time goes for a TD. A 10 point swing.

He-- no it's not over. Not even close.

Haven't heard that before.

He probably would get more touches if he'd stop fumbling the ball every 6 or 7 touches.

I think he's fumbled 3 times in his career...exaggerate much?

They got rid of Zimmer and the D did get better, it just didnt get consistently dominant, which is what we thought we'd be getting with Wade.

I dont remember anyone wanting to "get rid of Payton". And he left for a HC job, after turning another one down the previous yr to stay.

I still think there's enough talent here to be better than this.

That's because the culture of excuse making at Valley Ranch has spilled over and infected a percentage of the fans.

Dallas should have been the "desperate team" with its "back to the wall" against SD. We should have been their trap game.

The OL underachieves badly (mainly at run blocking) and the safety position is dreadful, but everywhere else we are pretty good.

They clearly do not deal with issues well as you mention. Some guys should have been benched a long time ago.

All our base are belong to them.

This team continues to fold like a cheap suit and another December swoon is in full swing. You are not likely to beat a team like San Diego with 17 points. While I am not happy with an inability to make plays on defense, our inability to score on offense is absolutely killing us. I really think our OL problems are clear for all to see but I thought that last year as well.

We'll see what happens but I don't think it's gonna be pretty.
