Dude, you just don't get it. Regardless of the hows or whys, we always come up small when it matters most. We don't have the mentality to step up when it's absolutely needed. Remember Philly last year? Playoffs against Giants two years ago? Today? We're undisciplined and when things don't go well, we tank.
so you say we have no chance?

Good post David.

If we lose to the Chargers next week, things are going to get really interesting.

I'm in the minority but I am just not too upset with this loss.

If we can wrap up our division, it will be a guarantee that we have 1 home game and no bad weather as the 1 and 2 Seeds will be dome teams.

This is still a good football team who lost a close game on the road, in the cold weather against a desperate division rival.

The situation with Nick Folk is really starting scare me.
A desperate rival who had lost 5 of 6 games. Too bad we aren't playing StL next week. They're really desperate.

If we can wrap up our division? We have a far tougher schedule than either NYG or Philly at this point. Today wasn't a must-win, but it was in the neighborhood. It would be hard to pick against the NYG-Philly winner next week for the division.

4) I'm getting to the point where I wish MBIII didnt play so much...for the 2nd time in 3 weeks he had a really pathetic fumble, and it was a huge momentum shifter...along with Hamlin's ridiculous deal, signing Barber for as much as we did isnt paying off
Superb post. Summed up the game to a tee.

I would add to the above that those aren't the only 2 bad contracts from that offseason. Newman is obviously in decline, and he got a huge deal at the same time MBIII did, IIRC.

Adams did as well, and he's been terrible this year. The big offseason challenge, IMO, will be finding a new LT (other than finding the right head coach).

We are a stupid, undisciplined football team. You know, a reflection of our coaching staff.

So that would be every coaching staff since Jimmy left I guess since the same problems have existed since then, including under the great Bill Parcells.

Actually, it is a reflection of our GM.

I feel bad for Tony because this loss is gonna get pinned on him and he executed today unlike other members of this team.

No one is going to put this on Tony.. No one. If they do they're agenda driven.

This, once again, speaks to coaching. We have an OC that doesn't know which personnel are best for situational run sets and a HC that continues to show an inability to will his team to step up when the December quasi playoff atmosphere arrives.

Meanwhile, my boy Choice still only gets 3-5 token carries per game.. ZZZZZZZ (yes.. straight agenda..)

I agree with much of the assessment but San Diego is due to lose, teams rarely win seven in a row let alone 8.

I think the drop by Bennett on the first drive was significant as it prevented us even from trying a FG (although Folk likely would have missed it anyway).

Roy was interfered with badly and I am not convinced that there wasn't a block in the back on the punt return.

I am sick of losing to big mouths like Tuck and Jacobs.

Good thing is we are still in first and will be guaranteed no worse than second in the division after next week given the Eagles and Giants play each other so both cannot win.

Right now, as bad as it sounds, I want the Eagles to win (yes I barfed writing that) as a Giant loss is more beneficial than an Eagle one.

It will come down to Giants, Eagles, Cowboys and Packers fighting for three spots. No other team in the NFC really has a chance in my view.
I really don't know how I feel about this game and who I want to lose more. The bottom line first is we NEED to win. With a win, I definitely want the Giants to win that game because the following week we have to the Saints on the road and the Eagles play the Niners at home. If we win against SD and the Eagles win this week and against the Niners the following week we are looking at all likelihood of losing sole possession of first place. So I am in the camp of go Giants right now because we still up a game on them.

I agree more Choice less MB3. It gets clearer and clearer by the week.

No, I didn't. Don't put words in my mouth. I'm saying this team is going to have to show me something they haven't done in a long time. Win when everything is on the line. They need to stop talking about getting better and actually play better. I get tired of hearing the same old stuff from them. Consider me from Missouri from now on. Show Me!!!!!

Yeah our game vs San Diego will dictate who I cheer for.

San Diego's defense isnt as good as NYG's, so maybe we can score more. But I dont see how we stop them. Their offense is really playing well, and Phillip Rivers is red hot.

The thing is dbair we have had problems against the 3-4 defenses this year (see Denver and Green bay). I will be highly surprised if we win next week. I was really counting on Dallas walking into New York and getting the win. I am so disappointed with our offensive line.

Oh, great post game analysis.

That too. He is the person that has hired all of the failures.

100% correct.

Felix is tentative, and Barber looks like you'd expect a RB in his 30s to look.

Choice, IMO, should get a significant amount of touches until the other 2 guys show otherwise.

We lost because we played a team that refused to lose... The giants killed us with big playes by offensive players and special teams players that refused to go down. The giants were not going to be denied, and were not goingo to lose today to a Wade Phillips coached team.

Our cowboys will be able to win in december untill we get a head coach that know what it takes to win at the end of the season...

Those are all great points.

Good point on Newman. He gave up one play and just missed the ball. Otherwise, he played very good. They didn't test him much. He made a great play on a deep post route and saved a TD.

I'm with you on the offensive line. It's time for a change in philosophy. I want Felix Jones featured in a zone blocking scheme. Can't make it happen now, though.

I still think Dallas can beat San Diego, Washington, and Philadelphia and get to 11 wins and win this division.

However, it will not be easy. It will be very, very close. Those are three tight games.

I think they can beat the Saints, but I'd rather beat Washington.

Beating SD and Washington will be key. Dallas has not beat a good team on the road, yet. Perhaps, Washington's record will be the difference.

Then, you have the showdown for the NFC East Division Title.

Dallas is at home in that one, and they have a great chance to beat them again.

I bet the Giants lose to the Eagles next week. If Dallas beats SD, the Giants will find themselves down 2 games to two different teams.

They have the Vikings and Washington left too, on the road.

They may be mentally tough against Dallas, but mental toughness will not save them next week when McNabb torches their mediocre secondary. Jackson, Macklin, and Celek will destroy them.

Amen. The O-line let us down today but I just think Barber needs to go back to the being a part timer. He's a great closer and short yardage guy. I still want him in the rotation but I am dying for more Choice (and not in the Razorback either):bang2:

Good summation.

Frankly, even though I haven't given up on Dallas ending the playoff streak, I'm really not impressed with this team despite their record.

Dallas seems like a 'tweener on offense. Their quick strike capability really isn't that strong, and they lack the heart and discipline to be a grind it out football team. They can light up the Oakland's of the league, but against quality teams points have been tougher to come by. Speaking of which, does Atlanta still qualify as a good team? If not, then Dallas has only beaten one team (philly) that any neutral observer would categorize as 'good.'

Letting the Giants D control the LOS and the missed tackles were the most embarrasing parts of this game, and by far the biggest indictment of this coaching staff's ability to motivate players. I don't care if they were "against the wall"--this was a revenge game for us against the team who has talked smack about Dallas more than any team in the league. There's no excuse for not getting up for this game.

That's the offense in a nutshell.

People may dispute it, but the fact that Dallas is near the top of the NFL in yards, but in the middle of the pack in points scored, pretty much tells us all we need to know.

They often have to grind it out, and a 10+ play drive often means that a lineman will hold, someone will turn it over, someone will get a stupid penalty, or someone a sure first down on the edge of scoring range (thanks Bennett). They're just too mistake prone to not make drive killing errors over the course of a long drive. Dallas doesn't have the discipline to play that brand of ball.

I dont see how anyone could pin it on him. His only really bad throw was the miss to RW. If he hadnt played as well as he did, we'd have got blown out.

The defense and OL deserve all the blame.

Tired of the big fat morons up front who can't run block to save their lives. They are the reason the team tanks at the end of the year. They are too fat, stupid and lazy and they know the media won't call them out (except Flo); they'll just pin it on Romo. Our OL are a bunch of pathetic fat, lazy, stupid slobs. SHEESH, glad I got that out of my system.
