I agree more Choice less MB3. It gets clearer and clearer by the week.

We've seen it posted here before, and I've even heard it said myself. Choice would be the ideal RB to start the game with... along with Felix Jones getting some carries on certain situations... long yardage downs in the screen game and other possible home run shots. Barber should be the second fiddle in the bulk carries department. Choice could be a starter on another team easily. He was always a touchdown machine when he was put in as the knockout closer.

I don't think the D is necessarily as bad as the score indicates - there were lots of 3 & outs.

However, everytime NYG got something going, they seemed to finish off their drives. They really beat us with big plays more than a bunch of long, sustained drives. They got one TD off of the short field with Barber's TO. They also got the on ST TD even though we have been just about the best in the league in punt coverage for the year.

On the plus side:

Free played pretty well pass blocking and that was a big concern heading into the game.

Romo and RW seem to be getting on the same page with some TDs and tough catches made. They almost hit on that big one towards the end of the game - I bet Tony wishes he had that one to do over.

Austin looks more and more like the real deal. I worried a little bit after a few down games if the league had already figured him out. I do think we need to start scheming to get him the ball early and try to take some shots deep when available because of his size, speed, strength and hands. It is good that we are working him into some of the short game more. I do think we need to consider running some buble screens his way with his strength and ability to break tackles.

This was probably Romo's best game of the year - great pocket presence, lots of good throws under pressure, great ball protection, very accurate for most of the game.

We continue to play well on 3rd and short. We finally started converting lots of third downs.

The OL did much better in blitz pick up today than they have been recently. There is still lots of work to do but they were better.

We seem to be getting Witten freed up down the field some more the past couple of weeks. I don't know if that is something we are doing differently scheme wise or if that is how the Raiders and the Giants decided to play us.

The run defense was fairly good outside of the one Bradshaw run where they were good at the point of attack but lost backside contain.

Both starting CBs were excellent today - especially Jenkins. We may have an All-Pro CB on our hands. Noone seems to get away from him and when they send someone deep on him, he either picks it or it falls incomplete.

Felix is starting to look a little better on the KO returns - maybe the knee is continuing to heal and he is gaining more and more confidence in it. A PCL injury has got to be a tough one for a RB to play through.

I agree with everything in the OP.
I do think our RBs are running really poorly right now, our rushing woes are not all on the oline.
Barber is slow as heck now, and doesn't break a tackle.
Felix is still not as quick/fast as he was, and he always strings the runs outside.
Our RBs are very overrated.

100% correct.

Felix is tentative, and Barber looks like you'd expect a RB in his 30s to look.

Choice, IMO, should get a significant amount of touches until the other 2 guys show otherwise.

It doesnt matter, guys have to block some or it doesnt matter who the RB is. Other than 3 or 4 plays, none of our RB's ever had a chance today. They got no forward push and the Giants constantly had multiple guys running into the backfield.

These guys just cant run block.

I don't think you can make that blanket statement considering we are 2nd in the league with a 5.3 YPA average running the ball..

Today they just got whupped by a team they laid 250 on last time running.

This is more about effort and preparation than talent. And not giving the worst RB on the team currently the bulk of the work.

I dont care what the yds per attempt says, its not indicative on how effective our running game is as a whole. We have had alot of long runs this yr and that skews the yds per attempt. I'm quite sure we rank poorly when it comes to % of rush plays that are considered "wins" (gains of 3+ yds), especially since the week two game.

This is pathetic the more I think about it. How many times have we heard that the "game is won in the trenches?" Well, this is the situation like you pointed out.

What's disappointing is how the 'Boys talk about hating the Giants and coming to play, but play like sissies in the most important area where it matters. Once again, they were all talk, and no show.

Even Witten got pushed into the backfield on a couple of plays today. :(
