I swear I recall an explanation that the toe tap only applies to dragging a foot. In a situation like Lamb where he’s falling backwards, he has to get his heel down to be a catch. I recall this has come up before in past seasons.
True.

It's happened a number of times. It's always been the case. I can remember Witten catching a ball while running backwards. He had one foot in clearly, the other foot hit toe, then heel, but the heel was OB.

Incomplete.

Same as the call today.

In a situation like Lamb where he’s falling backwards, he has to get his heel down to be a catch. I recall this has come up before in past seasons.

the heel has to also land in bounds. If it was just a tap it’s a td but since the heel came down it couldn’t touch the white.
