My sis, my dad, and me...taken last weekend.

Interesting thing...well, interesting to me...my dad has always been a very tough guy. He grew up in Bedford Stuyvesant which is a pretty tough neighborhood. It was only a few years ago that he stopped playing softball AND getting into fights on the field.

Anyway, life's dealt out some crap to him lately, my stepmom has ALS. We've all rallied around him. When this picture was taken, I put my arm around him...and I didn't notice, until I saw the picture, that he had reached up and taken my hand.

For my dad, that's big stuff.

Thanks...ALS is a wicked disease. She (and he) are my new idols. It's beyond belief to see how well they are handling it. Hemingway once defined courage as "grace under pressure"...that said, these are two very courageous people.

My dad's 79. I think he could still kick my butt.
