My thoughts.
-Dak had a few nice plays, but a lot where he showed his weaknesses. Poor pocket presence, horrible mechanics even when not pressured and missing wide open targets. We need to get him outside the pocket more and play to his strengths. More read option.
-Zeke is getting stronger week by week. Making it look easy.
-Cooper is the real deal...I didn't think it was a good trade when we made it but he has made me a believer. Seems like he has meshed with the team as well.
-Beasley isn't getting much action. Surprising with the play of Cooper and Zeke. Lack of a a legit receiving option at TE probably hurts Beasley more than anyone else.
-Kudos to Sua Filo and Fleming, and of course Looney. Prior to this year Looney just seemed like a clown, but he got himself into better shape and has been an above average fill in for Frederick. Can you imagine us a year ago if we had to replace three OL in a game. Amazing what one year's difference is. It seems we have solid depth on the OL for once. The other guy RIchmond did ok when he got a few plays in too. And that doesn't even consider the guy we got from KC that went down with an injury.
-Just pay D. Law and get it over with. He is worth it. He plays hard every down and is a factor against the run and the pass.
-Tyrone Crawford is playing to a level probably higher than he ever has. He might be overpaid, but he is very valuable to this team.
-Randy Gregory is getting better every week, flashing more and more. Will be interesting to see the pass rush when Irving comes back.
-Byron Jones is playing like the best corner in the league. What a revelation.
-Xavier Woods is getting better and better.
-Special teams might be the team's biggest weakness and can be so game changing.
I really just think this team is starting to come around. THere is a ton of talent on the defense and they are just a player or two from being a dominant defense. They are already probably a top 5 unit...but it is annoying how at times they can just get torched. It still pretty much is going to come down to Dak. He needs to make more plays...but the one saving grace is that he isn't turning the ball over.
