Postgame Thoughts

 agreed, thou you'd think we lost reading the gam post
It was a really ugly offensive performance with a handful of excellent plays. We had at least three 3 and outs. Our defense got some turnovers, but we allowed a back up QB with 3 backup lineman to make way to many plays. Garrett and Linehan basically shut the offense down and allowed the Skins back into the game. Dak made some plays, but he missed on way to many others( I was a huge Dak supporter, but I’m starting to wonder about his ability to throw the intermediate and long pass).

Dak Prescott: 9.3 yards/attempt, 3 TD, 0 turnovers. 121.6 passer rating.

3 straight wins. 3 straight turnover-free games.

Oh, and on pace for his 3rd straight winning season.

Winners win. Dak is 28-15.

The defense and zeke are winning these games .. as much as I want dak to be the guy .. he had very little to do with this win ... look at numbers all you want .. I know what I saw.. he needs a lot of work or to be replaced

If they had just kicked the FG then none of this stuff matters at the end of the game. The defense while good continues to have issues with mobile or above average passing QBs. The offense is going to have to step up big time next week because Brees will get his points. The Saints defense is also playing a lot better now.

Hahahahaha

Okay.

Hey, how did Amari Cooper finish with 180 and 2 TD? Did Zeke and the defense throw him the ball?

kudos once again to mark columbo for having the o-line ready to go against a very good d-line. filo excellent again. fleming not so much, but able.
I thought the run O was fantastic, the pass O was again, suspect. (the offensive line)

I don't want to hear any whining from the Commander fans about that head shot. Because the second they bring that up, then I want to hear about the last game when the long snapper of Dallas got a penalty for a standard move by every center on every offensive play in the history of this sport.

No that was a clear penalty that forced a jump. The DL made the referees call the penalty,

His standard move was done AFTER the refs had already set themselves and blown the whistle, meaning it’s not alllowed. The normal standard move is made when the referees still haven’t set.

I don't know if my hesitation to be pleased with this win lies with the defense or offense. I was expecting to see McCoy FLAT on his back a lot and under pressure a lot more. The defense stuffed old man Peterson, but the tight ends were free all night. But then the offense play calling was so questionable at times, especially in the first half. Good Grief you have 1st and goal from the 4 and zeke doesn't get a carry?

Plus watching N.O. tonight doesn't help. Whats brees gonna do to these guys?

Bull nuggets.

My thoughts.

-Dak had a few nice plays, but a lot where he showed his weaknesses. Poor pocket presence, horrible mechanics even when not pressured and missing wide open targets. We need to get him outside the pocket more and play to his strengths. More read option.

-Zeke is getting stronger week by week. Making it look easy.

-Cooper is the real deal...I didn't think it was a good trade when we made it but he has made me a believer. Seems like he has meshed with the team as well.

-Beasley isn't getting much action. Surprising with the play of Cooper and Zeke. Lack of a a legit receiving option at TE probably hurts Beasley more than anyone else.

-Kudos to Sua Filo and Fleming, and of course Looney. Prior to this year Looney just seemed like a clown, but he got himself into better shape and has been an above average fill in for Frederick. Can you imagine us a year ago if we had to replace three OL in a game. Amazing what one year's difference is. It seems we have solid depth on the OL for once. The other guy RIchmond did ok when he got a few plays in too. And that doesn't even consider the guy we got from KC that went down with an injury.

-Just pay D. Law and get it over with. He is worth it. He plays hard every down and is a factor against the run and the pass.

-Tyrone Crawford is playing to a level probably higher than he ever has. He might be overpaid, but he is very valuable to this team.

-Randy Gregory is getting better every week, flashing more and more. Will be interesting to see the pass rush when Irving comes back.

-Byron Jones is playing like the best corner in the league. What a revelation.

-Xavier Woods is getting better and better.

-Special teams might be the team's biggest weakness and can be so game changing.

I really just think this team is starting to come around. THere is a ton of talent on the defense and they are just a player or two from being a dominant defense. They are already probably a top 5 unit...but it is annoying how at times they can just get torched. It still pretty much is going to come down to Dak. He needs to make more plays...but the one saving grace is that he isn't turning the ball over.
