Potential Future Hall of Fame Players

Eli will likely get in, deserved or not. Witten I don't think will be 1st ballot just because of position but it all depends on who he's up against that year.

I think Devin Hester will get in as a special teams talent.

Tyron Smith hasn't really done anything yet. And to mention him over Witten?

Tyron Smith has been all pro 2 years running and is only 25, if he keeps up his production he's gonna be in the hall

Tony Romo will be a HOFr even if he never plays another game. If the Cowboys win a SB he's a 1st Ballot guy.
Witten should make the HOF some day but not sure if he will be a first or second ballot guy because of the more pass happy era.
Some of the linemen could make it if they have long careers.

As far as the rest of the NFL goes.
Brady, Manning, Rodgers, Big Ben, Brees, probably don't have to play another game and are HOF guys. Despite inconsistencies the 2 SB wins probably have Eli Manning as a HOFer too.

Calvin Johnson, Jimmy Graham, JJ Watt, Ware, Luck, Ryan, I'm sure I'm leaving a ton of guys out probably will get in some day.

It's still too early to say for any of the linemen. Erik Williams was about as good a lineman as there's ever been but he was never quite as dominant after a car accident in 1994.

And I would not put Eli Manning in, if it were not for his defense and those two catches, he would not have any rings.
Have a good hump day Cowboy family, the season cant get here fast enough!!!

Eli was named MVP in both SB wins his defense had him playing from behind in the final minutes of both games. It took 2 outstanding plays by Eli with both games on the line to win those SB's in the end. Granted Tyree made an unbelievable catch but it took Eli avoiding what appeared to be a certain sack and putting the ball in a position where Tyree had a chance. The throw to Manningham 4 years later was an outstanding throw and a great catch once again with the game on the line.

It's not like he was throwing to Jerry Rice on those plays those were 2 average receivers who are no longer in the league. At this point Eli would be on the bubble for the HOF the 2 SB wins over Brady will score him some points with the voters but he's had too many average to poor regular seasons with far too many turnovers to be a HOF player and the regular season has to count for something. He would need one more ring to make the HOF in my opinion.

Didn't Roy Williams make All Pro once or twice? Key word is "if". Two years doesnt make a HOVer.

Witten is #2 all time in receptions and a 10 time Pro Bowler. You cant keep him out.

Freaking dead period sucks, cant wait for training camp to start!!! Anyway, I was thinking of which players we have now that would fall in that category.

I say Tyron Smith and Dez Bryant as obvious choices, If Romo could win a title or two, I would definitely put him in.

As for other teams besides Brady & Manning, I would say Megatron, Adrian Peterson, Larry Fitzgerald, Revis and Earl Thomas would be in, I would have included Patrick Peterson but he retired too soon.

Patrick Peterson has retired?

You really have to look at players well toward the end of their career
Dez is a pup and so far away it's not even relavent
Romo has a reasonable shot
Witten is a lock
Ware will get in if he has another solid two years
It's not so much where he stands in all time standings
It's about being dominate in your era and ware has
As for others around the league there are a few locks like manning and Brady
Several who have a good shot like megaton and watt and maybe a few others
But till a player is near the end it's hard to determine anything about an honor for a full career

roy made all-pro once, but his game was dependent on being able to be a hitter, rule changes showed he couldn't cover and his game fell to pieces. Tyron is a dominant LT, no rule change is gonna stop him from being able to lock up rushers. If he doesn't get injured nothing would make it seem like he wont see the Hall. And im not saying Witten won't make the hall, I actually think he is should make first ballot, but the voters never show TE's love, that's the point I was trying to make.

Eli will get in. He will be measured against Brady, i.e., the only quarterback the great Tom Brady couldn't beat. He has two Super Bowl rings and with the exception of Jim Plunkett (who had an awful early career), no other quarterback who has started and won multiple Super Bowls has been left out of the HOF. His mediocre regular seasons will get overlooked. And, of course, he's a Manning.

Ware is going to get in. Even though he underwhelmed me, he was the most dominant pass rusher of his era.

Romo doesn't get in without a Super Bowl ring. He has no league MVP, no hardware and will be vying for a spot in the HOF against contemporaries including Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Ben Roethlisberger, Eli Manning, Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees - all of whom have won Super Bowls.

Others not named but still playing who I think have a shot:

Julius Peppers
Terrell Suggs
Antonio Gates
Steve Smith
Joe Thomas
Phillip Rivers
