They had an abundance of talent at that specific spot in that specific role and all the league knew it.

The choice you had, then, was to trade an Armstrong kind of asset and hope that Land could make the jump, or do what they did.
They had no reason to trade Armstrong. If he signs somewhere else next year, they will get a draft pick for him.

Well, no, they could have had tempting offers. That's the part we can't know. But all things being equal, I agree with that assessment (... and edited my post to reflect that).

No brainer for him unless he thinks he is destined to be a starter. I'm sure it will work out like last year and we'll eventually see him in some games. Based on Coach Mac's press conference, sounds like he was transparent with him and told him if they had one more spot, would have kept him. Not like some of these other guys that are not proven depth.

i wanna see if were-sign McKeon to the practice squad.

Gotta get that long snapper and backup center on return.
Sieg will re-sign once they put Nahshon Wright on IR.

I heard they might re-sign Edoga to the 53 in order to put Matt Waletzko on short term IR too, but isn't that bringing back one injured lineman to sub for another?
