I like hearing anything about those two connecting. It seemed to me like they struggled to for the early part of last year but picked it up at the end. Nice to hear that's continuing.

What in the realm of Hades does criticizing Jerry Jones have to do with watching MY Dallas Cowboys play football and being a 47 year fan of the team?

The fact that you would equate the team with the current owner is disturbing. The fact that you would equate my 47 year loyalty to what I think of Jerry Jones is insulting. Do you think he is actually capable of erasing 47 yeats of emotional investmemt in the helmet with a star?

Jerry Jones is as temporary as the previous head coaches he hired. It won't be long before he is gone. So, if you really don't mind, that is, if it is okay with you, I'm going to continue to be critiical of the ownership aspect of MY team.

Or perhaps, in your reality, Jerry Jones is perfection personified......now that is truly disturbing.

Actually, I think we'll play more Cover-2 because of Heath. He is better in the deeper half than the shallow end. I won't be surprised, though, if we walk Jones up to cover good tight ends and leave Heath back at free safety, so there will obviously be a mix. I just think based on personnel, Cover-2 will be a much larger part of that mix than it was with our previous personnel that didn't fit that coverage.

We might play more Cover 2 but I'll be surprised if Cover 1 isn't our dominant defensive alignment this year.

If we were moving towards playing a lot more zone coverages I suspect someone in the media would be reporting that.

Since 2013, we have always played more Cover 1 than any other coverage. I think people are just claiming we are going to play a lot more zone to justify a guy like Carroll.

I suspect we will play more Cover 1 this year than any other coverage because that's what we've played for the last 3 seasons. Somewhere a long the line people assumed since Marinelli grew up in the Tampa 2/Cover 2 world that's what he wants to play. I am not so sure.

It seems what we are looking for is guys who can play in both - Brown, Lewis and Awuzie, for example, all had scouting reports that show they are competent in either man or zone.

We play single high man a lot but we play just as much cover 3 where the CBs keep bailing. Neophytes often think that cover 3 is man outside when it is not. Last year with the 3 man fronts taking center stage we playing a lot of quarters and 1-4-2 looks. They also ran hybrid looks where it was man in the middle of the field on backs and TE but cover 3 elsewhere.

We drafted 2 corners that have top zone awareness and let go the 2 man corners we had go. Church could not play deep safety unless it was quarters and even then it was dicey which pigeonholed the team into the old school FS/SS looks. Heath can single high so he is light years better off. Woods has good range too to play deep.

Why you would think that we were going to run more man is beyond me. We have the S and CB now to play anything we want. The only thing holding us back is a LB who can take the deep middle but Lee can do it out of the nickel and Smith/Nzeocha can potentially as well. Hitchens has marginal speed so I have my doubts.

Nice stack and swim but you can tell me is trying new techniques. It is going to take Taco some time until he has that polished natural flow to his rush. We have seen it with all the new guys coming in under this DC.

Yeah Dak did not practice with the ones until well into August when Romo went down. Then Dez got dinged early in the year. They definitely seemed to start to click in the playoff though.
