Pray for Matt Schaub....on his way to the RAIDERS

I think if Oakland doesn't trade down slightly, they're planning to take one of those stud OTs or Clowney, if he's still there.

Makes sense...I just feel for Schaub. He's a bad QB, not a bad person. NOBODY deserves to be exiled to Oakland. Harsh....

the black hole of the NFL

I cannot believe how stupid they were to let Veldheer go.

Well, we know clearly they're going QB pick 1 now. Unless that pick is a late 1st Rnd. Hey, he could have gone to Cleveland!

I was expecting him to end up in Cleveland as a free agent. Surprised anyone is giving up a draft pick for him

I don't think so. Oline or Clowney, imo. But I guess never say never...I really doubt they'd pass up Bortles, for example.

How did he fall off so far so fast? He had several good seasons and was highly rated, then last year nothing.

I still don't understand how the Texans ended up with the #1 pick, they aren't the least talented they just completely gave up I guess.

Speaking of 'real' GMs, I guess you could look at this situation and say:

1) Yeah, baby, some super genius GM just gave up a late round pick for a guy with a huge salary who was going to get cut anyway.
Or, ...
2) Yeah, baby, a genius GM just finangled a draft pick from some idiot GM for some scrub who was going to get cut anyway.

"If only we had a real GM ..."

Last year he was a victim of their running game being poor. he needs a solid run game.

Schaub always was a bit of a mirage; by the time the Texans built a real contender he was frankly starting to wear thin; and it all came apart last year. He can only do a few things really well and defenses figured that out.

The Raiders have added a lot of talent quietly. They are going to be good next season. I bet they make the playoffs.

I think that's the only way they could get him there (money be damned).

The title of this thread should have been

PRAY FOR THE RAIDERS.....just traded for Matt Schuab

The Texans did not have a poor run game last year. They were average. Being average was a step down from how they had performed the past recent seasons. Shaub needs a very good run game in order to get the most out of him. A drop from good to average made Shaub look horrible this season. Imagine how he would have looked if they actually had a poor running game. I agree with Burm that Shaub's performances have mostly been a mirage.

I bet they don't. They will be in a competitive division and they still won't have a QB.
