Pre-draft Press Conference Tuesday at 11:30 CST

In a subtle but still noticeable way in my eyes:
When Jerry allowed McClay to speak for the first time and McClay gave his input as to setting up the board and then...(drumroll)
"giving it over to the decision makers"

I thought this odd/strange to kinda not include himself in that group but to imply that all he and his guys do is set up the board and then leave it up to everyone else as the picks people.

Anybody else get that impression?
As though he did not play an active role in the picks process.
My immediate reaction was exactly the same.

I quit listening when Jerry said he likes being "totally homogenized."
That did it for me. I just heard far too much about far too little.

Nothing earth shattering, all the typical stuff.
However, we expected this.

Jerry did make the point, that the phone needs to ring, you do not call around asking for a trade, they must call you.
And he is correct. To the dismay of some fans that do not want to understand that.

Welcome to reality. You must not watch every war room video where Jerry is large and in charge and Stephen and Will are merely go-fer secretaries.

What exactly could change in the next 72 hours? Board isn’t finalized? My goodness.

Maybe it’s like the McCarty extension talks….they were so busy concentrating on winning those last few games (which has zero to do with the FO) that they hadn’t thought about it.
Remember it can be 95% completed and what he says is still true

I figured a ton of people watch it. Don't remember the last time I watched one. Its really boring lol
People like to watch round 1. It’s a good night out with friends. Some people tune into round 2 and 3 because those are impactful players still and good players to be had but most casuals (I hate this word btw but couldn’t think of a better word) will not watch day 2. The third day people just get the notifications on their phones lol

Hahahaha. Imagine believing this absolute nonsense.

Schottenheimer was so far at the end of the table, he was almost off the camera. And only did, I'd say, less than 10% of the talking.

Jerry has always been in charge, of course. It's his organization and as the old coaching saying goes, he's either doing it or allowing it to happen. But IMO something happened a year or two ago. Jerry used to be up there with Mike and let Mike do plenty of talking. Then Jerry made the Lance trade and made a point of telling us that he didn't consult with the coach or anyone when he did it. Last year he put himself front and center of the PCs and did the vast majority of the talking.

I'm not saying he wasn't always in charge, but he went from taking a half-step back to making sure we all know he's still the big boss.

I always thought the implied understanding of Jerry's think-tank group war room was a by committee approach but yielding to GodFather Jerry as final say.

My observation was to say that McClay didn't even act as though he had a voice whatsoever in the actual selection of players.
To which I thought his voice "supposedly" carried most of the weight/influence as to Jerry's choice since him and his scouts set up the board.

Imagine not believing the absolute truth.
It’s a ridiculously stupid stance. Picking up the phone doesn’t force you to overspend. You set your price target and if you can agree, get. If not, you move on. It’s a stupid stance and thinking that these idiots have a clue on how to run a successful football franchise on the field is even more stupid.

I watch each and every pick.
