When Super Bowls get put totally on the shoulders of a QB that’s when you can run into big trouble. Dan Marino was forced to shoulder the load against San Francisco and lost his only Super Bowl appearance. John Elway lost three Super Bowls having to carry the Broncos. The Legion of boom shut down Peyton Manning and the Broncos offensive juggernaut back in 2013. We all know how great Mahomes is but KC’s defense better show up. If you force any QB to have to play come back all day you’ll end up getting beat.

After throwing for a combined 208 yards in the previous two playoff games, Jimmy Garoppolo will have at least 209 passing yards and could finish closer to 300. The Chiefs have made it clear they want to take away the Niners' rushing attack and force Garoppolo to beat them. And considering his yards per attempt (8.6) and touchdowns against man coverage (23) both rank second in the NFL and Kansas City's knack for playing a lot of man (57%, fifth most in the league), it could be set up for Garoppolo to have a big game on the biggest stage. -- Nick Wagoner, 49ers reporter

•Jimmy G....the other QB in this Super Bowl.
might have a chip on his shoulder with all the Mahomes talk.

•Chiefs D...the other defense in this Super Bowl.
they might come in pissed at the world with all the talk about the 9ers D.

The 49ers' front four will dictate the pace, and when massive tackles Arik Armstead and DeForest Buckner cause havoc up the middle, Bosa will be there for a sack or a forced fumble when Mahomes tries to escape. - Jeremy Fowler.

Reading Dak talk about this superbowl, he talks about improvisation & OCs ... I thought it was interesting . How much of what he does is called .

**: The best offensive teams have synergy between QBs and offensive coordinators. Despite play calling, how much does improvisation govern the game?

Prescott: You’ve got to play within the game, and got to play within your reads. But then, when you know your opponent is struggling against you when you improv, like when you get out of the pocket— that’s the part in which you can exploit the other team’s weaknesses.

With this team (Kansas City) they know the 49ers defense is coming at them, they can use their speed and get a guy, for example, like (receiver) Tyreek Hill to be dangerous.

"Super Bowl LIV referee Bill Vinovich has worked eight consecutive postseasons. His regular-season crews almost always rank at or near the bottom in average flags per game." - Kevin Seifert

Thank goodness. We don't need flags in the bowl .

edit*

"Vinovich was the referee in the 2018 NFC Championship Game, an affair marked by one of the worst officiating controversies in NFL playoff history. As you might recall, his crew missed an obvious pass interference call (and an illegal hit on a defenseless player) against Los Angeles Rams cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman, a big reason the New Orleans Saints couldn't seal a game they eventually lost in overtime."

Gronk is looking a little on the scrawny side these days he’s lost a lot of weight.
