I think Dallas is going to end up picking around 12 to 15. So I decided to have a little fun. I want Patrick Peterson, but we're going to win games and move down the draft. I am sure of it.

1. Brandon Harris, CB, Miami, 5'11", 195. If I can't have Peterson, I'll take the guy I believe is the next best thing. Teams simply do not throw at Harris. He is solid in run support too.

2. Deunta Williams, FS, UNC, 6'2", 205.
He has top 20 talent, but a suspension to start his year has hurt his draft stock. I'd jump all over him if I were Dallas. He has more upside than 2010 Draft favorite Nate Allen.

3. Krisotfer O'Dowd, C, USC, 6'5", 300.
Never doubt it. This is my pet cat in this Draft. He is from Tucson, and he is a bull. Could be one of the strongest Centers in the NFL within a couple of years. May be already. He mauls people.

4. John Moffitt, OG, Wisconsin, 6'5", 325. We are likely to lose Kosier this year. Here is a kid who can step right in from day 1 and start. I am not sure why his draft stock is down to 3rd and 4th round status, but that happens to interior OL.

5. Ricky Stanzi, QB, Iowa, 6'4", 225. I won't deny it. I just flat out like this kid. He is smart and that's what I want in a backup QB. I believe he can be groomed to start one day, and if all he does is backup Tony Romo I am fine with that.

6a. JaQuizz Rodgers, RB/KR/PR, Oregon State, 5'7, 190. I believe that Barber will be gone. I believe our 3rd RBs primary role needs to be Return duties and 3rd downs. In the open field, this kid is electric. He cannot be a full time RB in the NFL, but he can produce.

6b. Owen Marecic, FB, Stanford, 6'1", 245.
I love bulldozers at FB. This kid can also play ILB. His motor never stops. He will also pop people on Special Teams. This pick is courtesy of the San Diego Chargers for Patrick Crayton. Provided he gets 15 more receptions.

7. Cecil Shorts, WR, Mount Union, 6'0", 190.
He has unreal production at a Div. III school. 2008 he had 77, 1484 yards, 23 TDs. 2009 he had 90, 1551 yards, 17 TDs. So far in 2010 he missed 3 games due to an injury. He still has 32 receptions, 575 yards and 11 TDs, plus 7 Kick Rturns for 201 yards and TD, 6 Punt Returns for 245 yards and 2 TDs. He has also run the ball and played QB in the past. Our 7th pick is gone due to taking Josh Brent. But if we finish with a better record than Miami we get their 7th for Pat McQuistan. I believe we will be better than them.

There is not a chance we'll be drafting 12-15, lol.

If we landed your first 4 picks in our draft i'd probably faint. That would be one of the better drafts in my memory if we were able to land that haul.

Love Moffitt - I can't see him getting past Round 2.

I really get a kick out of guys like you who say definitive stuff like this yet don't even look at the facts. Here's a fact for you. This is the current Draft order for the top 10 counting Thursday Night's Bears victory over the Dolphins. In parentheses behind the 3-6 teams I am including their opponent this week. I will explain that later.

1. Bills, 1-8, .565
2. Panthers, 1-8, .572
3. Lions, 2-7, .545
4. Cowboys, 2-7, .546
5. Bengals, 2-7, 552 (vs. Bills)
6. Cardinals, 3-6, .458 (@ Chiefs)
7. 49ers, 3-6, .503 (vs. Buccaneers)
8. Vikings, 3-6, .524 (vs. Packers)
9. Broncos, 3-6, .528 (@ Chargers)
10. Browns, 3-6, .538 (@ Jaguars)

If Dallas wins and teams 5 through 10 lose, we would already be at pick #10. 2 spots from your impossible scenario. Since it is unlikely the Bengals will lose to the Bills, pick 9, 3 from impossible is more likely.

All we need are 3 or 4 wins to hit that 12 to 15 mark easily. Lions, Cardinals, Commanders. That is 3 probable wins right there. If the team really does buy into the new system, we could shock some teams.

1 win drops us that far if those teams lose, and they might.

Welcome to parity.

I like a lot of the picks, but it looks a little heavy on the offensive side of the ball. In addition to secondary, I think they will be looking at ILB and DE for the defense (especially with three FA's at DE).

Brandon Barris is my favorite player in the draft. I hope we land him. I doubt Deuntas there in the 2nd, if not then Quinton Carter should be the pick. He's a leader, sick tackler, and can start day one.

I like it. A lot.

Love the Deunta Williams pick. Also love John Moffitt and JaQuizz Rogers...though I'd rather have LaMichael James next year.

And then if not, we still have a shot at Patrick Peterson :)

I like your selections, but I'd much rather draft OL. If Sherrod is there in the 12-15 range, he's my pick.

You don't take a position with your first pick just because you have a need there, especially not high in the first round. You gotta take the best guy available, within reason. It COULD be an offensive lineman but it could just as easily be a CB.

I feel we have bigger needs at Interior OL than OT (we have 5 on the current roster) and therefore am not keen on OL in round 1. It is a thin OL crop anyway.

Harris on the other hand is a potential star.

I'll probably faint also. But I'll also bet Kiper would have something negative to say about that.

gotta disagree Tick - if we are drafting top 4 an Petersen is gone we trade down

I think theres a possiblity that we win 3 more games IMO

I'm not factoring in trade down scenerios, but more to the fact I don't think we straight-up win enough games to put us in that #12-15 range.

Just for comparison, last years's teams that drafted in that same range (prior to any trades on Draft day) were all either 7-9 or 8-8 (Miami, SF, Seattle, Giants). In 2009, all the teams in that range were 8-8.

I'm not an overly pessimistic fan, but I just don't see this team going 5-2 or 6-1 down-the-stretch.

JMO, but I think at best we may go 4-3 in our remaining games to put us at 6-10 (W/L) for the season. That would likely put us in the end of the top 10 range.

Just a hunch.

I really get a kick out of guys who don't do their homework. I love it even more when they talk out their rear. You've managed to do both which makes you a favorite of mine.

I don't think we straight-up win enough games to put us in that #12-15 range.

Just for comparison, last years's teams that drafted in that same range (prior to any trades on Draft day) were all either 7-9 or 8-8 (Miami, SF, Seattle, Giants).
In 2009, all the teams in that range were 8-8.
In 2008, all the teams in that range were 7-9.
In 2007, all either 7-9 or 8-8.

"All we need is 3 or 4 wins to hit that 12 to 15 mark." Really? You know this by what, history? See the noted history above.

I just don't see this team going 5-2 or 6-1 down-the-stretch, which is likely what would need to be done to get in that range.

Also gotta love how your prediction is greased by having all the other teams lose. Brilliant, because we all know, out of those teams listed only the Cowboys will win.

BTW, you listing this week's opponents of all the teams is telling us what exactly? I could care less about the draft order after Week 10 because it's absolutely meaningless. Talk to me after the season's over when it actually matters or maybe the final week when you can make a projection.

I think at best we may go 4-3 in our remaining games to put us at 6-10 (W/L) for the season. That would likely put us in the end of the top 10 range. That's at best.

I think they go D Line in the first if an impact guy is there and O Line in second. Also Rogers will be long gone before where you have him going. Wouldnt mind seeing him in a Cowboy uni though.
