Honestly, Seattle is sucking enough to leave some hope that a wild card could come out of the East. I think we ought to win the East but if not, I still haven't given up hope that we could edge out the West for that 6th seed.

Agreed. Seattle is just not very good. They might get it together, but they are far from the lock everyone thinks they are.

Our game against them could end up being every bit as important to our playoff hopes as our upcoming East games.

Atlanta also have a very easy remaining schedule:

@TEN
TB
@SF
IND
MIN
@TB
@CAR
@ JAX
CAR
NO

Atlanta is going to be the team with the great record that no one worries about seeing in the playoffs. Yes, that is one cupcake schedule. It will not serve them well when the playoffs start.

I know its early, but I know we all have been thinking about what it will take to get into the playoffs.
Lets hear your thoughts, here's mine..

NFC North (1 Team)
GB

NFC South (2 Teams)
CAR
ATL

NFC West (2 Teams)
ARI
SEA

Which in my opinion leaves only 1 out of the East.

I think the only way 2 can come out of the East is if SEA or STL don't get it in.
I can see it coming down to week 17 for that 6th seed.

What are your thoughts?
Again I know its early, but just want to hear.

I am not sure if Seattle is a shoe in. I think you have the list right except for final two spots and it will come down to all kinds of tie breakers.

If Cowboys can be decent in the next 5 weeks and come out of it at 2-3 at worst and 3-2 at best, then we have a chance to make a run at one of the two spots.

IMO the candidates in no particular order will be
Dallas
Seattle
Minn.
St Louis
Giants
Philly

I think Carolina will win the division. Atlanta is guaranteed to lose one of their home games and one of their road games that they are favored to win. It seems like TB always give them issues when they play in TB, and the 49ers game isn't a given because Atlanta has always struggled against 3-4 defenses and scrambling QBs.

none o **** really matters because packers will get homefield throughout and none of these teams are beating them at home. rivers threw for over 500 yards against them yesterday and still couldn't beat them they and the cheatriots are the best teams in the league but steelers are gaining

Carolina might have the softest schedule in the NFL so far this season. I know they're 4-0, but they just aren't very good.

It'll either be Carolina in or two teams from the East. I'll go with Dallas/Giants.

Speaking of the East, that Giants/Eagles game is going to be ugly. With the amount of players out/questionable for the Giants, they are a huge underdog.

I think Carolina is better than you think.

Our route is to win the division

I agree that the Packers will have home-field advantage, however, I disagree that they are lock to win all their games at Lambeau in the playoffs. Go look at their history in the past 10 years or so and you will see 2-3 home playoff losses. Their high flying passing attacks have never been particularly suited for windy/wintery conditions at Lambeau.

Having said that, their running game and defense looks better this year than in previous years.
