Prediction: Ellis for Jason Taylor

What defense do you think he was playing in when he won his MVP ?

The real reason is because JT is the Emmitt Smith version of the Dullphins and you know what happened to Emmitt when Tuna came to town.

Ellis may stay put, but I think Parcells will get rid of Taylor for the same reason he got rid of Emmitt Smith.

He doesn't want a strong veteran voice in the club house that he can't control.

There is a difference. Taylor is currently under contract with Miami. Emmitt was not under contract when Parcells joined Dallas. Emmitt was also not worth keeping around for the money he wanted. There was more to it than an ego thing for Parcells, which I do feel played a part. Just not the biggest part in the story.

Taylor would be nice, but he is a bit expensive. I also wouldnt want to get rid of Ellis. I know what Ellis can do in our system already. I like Ware, Ellis, and Spencer......I would like to see Walden and even the guy from Georgia Tech that we signed as a UDFA have a chance to try and make the squad....

You never know though, he might be willing to renegotiate for a chance to get a ring and to continue to play with his best friend / brother-in-law Zach Thomas. It isnt really likely but it is fun to speculate.

Here's a prediction, Jason Taylor dosen't play another down for Miami and retires. The guy dosen't want to be there and parcells isn't going to trade him for nothing. Taylor im sure has man opportunities lined up in hollywood, so he wouldn't miss football at all.

No way would Parcells trade Taylor for Ellis straight up, and I don't think we'd give up a pick to get him. I would definitely take the deal if it was offered though.

They are only one year apart. Ellis has been to one Pro Bowl. Just two years ago Jason Taylor was considered arguably the top DE in football. Ellis vs Taylor? Not even close talentwise.

Not going to happen. Don't see that Taylor brings any more to the Cowboys then Ellis does. If Parcells trades Taylor for a 6th or 7th rounder & Taylor renegotiates his salary to almost minimum, maybe we'd think about it. But it's not going to happen.

The Dolphins want to get younger and get high value for their older guys while they can.

I don't think Dallas can afford his salary and I don't think the Dolphins would take a 3rd round pick.. now.. a 4th and Carpenter... maybe.. but can we really jetison him for two years worth of JT?... maybe .. just maybe..

We have to be careful about getting too much instant short term talent and giving up future talent.. as Jerry said.. that gets expensive when you go to replace that guy 2 years from now in FA

I doubt it very seriously. Taylor is Miami's Emmitt Smith. Strong willed, set in his ways, able to sway others in the locker room. Parcells wants to remove anyone with the credibility to question his methods.
