I agree with the Flozel vote. (joe and catch)

If the thread were to have been titled...
"The one player that could hurt this team the most."

Anyone could dissapoint, but part of being a fan, atleast a positive fan, is to be the eternal optimist.

It often gets me through the duldrum days in the trenchs, when I have the overall sence and feel of this team, seems to be going in the right direction at nearly every position other than Left Tackle.

Just cant be stacked every where, right?

Defense is deep in speed, inside/outside in coverage upgrades, with Scandrick looking early to be one of the best slot corners this team has seen in quite some time, and thats not comparing him to T-New in the slot, with Scandrick were not moving the #1 corner into the slot, and loosing some pedigree outside.

Big hole plugged on the edge with Igor, so thats a wash with Canty, and once we got T-New back the 4-6 was able to let loose anyway.
This draft directly attacked playmakers that can man up, and actually play the ball.

The reason why we might have dragged the bottom in int's last year might have had something to do with DB's staring down the wrs and not enough awreness of the ball.
I see that changing in a big way this year.

Thats just one area that brings a smile to my face daily.

Sorry to the OP, not trying to jump your topic, I just dont want to be labeling a guy waived, guess Im just supersticous that way.

edit...Man.... just realized I was ranting off topic like a mad man (sleep deprevation, and nyquil will do that)....sorry

There are plenty of reasons to be excited about next year, but we're getting to that period where many of us are becoming eternal optimists.

Guys like Roy, Felix, Austin, Jenkins, and Spencer are primed for breakout years.

But which player do you think will let us down the most next year?

My guess - WR Roy Williams. A lifelong underachiever, pressure has never been this high on the Texas native. The physical tools are there, but I think his time in Detroit has really slowed his progress as a player.

Ray Sherman is one of my favorite coaches on the staff, and the guy is apparently 'coachable' - but last year left a really bitter taste in my mouth. I would love to be proven wrong though.

So what do you guys think?

RW is the easy target to predict. Because people are holding him to a very high standard. Like he better have the best year ever for any WR in history. Or some will consider him a failure.

Another may be Spencer, now since Ellis is gone.

So a let down can be a very wide range of criteria to determine.

I will say probably someone on the OL, will not perform up to past standards. Like obviosly, due to age and injuries, Adams is the logical choice. I don't think he can have a comeback / pro bowl type season anymore. Decent, good, serciable, yes, but not a high level. I hope I'm wrong.

Gota agree with Flozell ---He has been disappointing me for several years--
Has never played up to his potential and is sliding down hill fast..(and its not because he was hurt last year)

The fans, they never buy enough stuff and they always create posts of "dont enjoy this victory".

They have always been a let down. If we dont make the playoffs its going to be rueage all over.

I truly hope I'm wrong but I have visions of Julius Jones when I watch him.

Ken Hamlin would be my next choice. Hit 'great' 2007 season was laden with gift interceptions and I believe that contract was a tad premature. He was banged up down the stretch last year so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

But I'm really glad we drafted secondary heavy these past few years, the other Hamlin is going to surprise a lot of people in camp.

One thousand yard season in five for the seventh pick in the draft isn't underachieving?

Bingo. In a wide open offense that was always playing from behind winging the ball down the field. There is reason to worry.

I still blame Parcells, partially, for Julius Jones.

I also still blame Parcells for not taking Stephen Jackson :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Thats easy....

Whoever throws into triple coverage of his back foot and sounds like a dweeb in the post game press conference.

I believe it's between Flozell Adams and Hamlin.

I am pretty sure those two disappointed LAST year. If they both played badly, it shouldn't be that disappointing.

As far as players who will disappoint me, I will pick Anthony Spencer. I'm not saying he will stink, but if he isn't that good or misses any time whatsoever, we are in trouble. I really doubt any of our backup outside linebackers can contribute this year. I bet people will miss Ellis at some point.
