Choice

I truly hope I'm wrong but I have visions of Julius Jones when I watch him.
If Choice had JJ speed he would be starting. He already has the rest. (rest as in heart, vision etc.)

What speed?

well, since you only ever started watching the cowboys when TO got here, it's easy to see how you would have never seen how fast julius was/is.

Man, I hope Spencer becomes a Lamarr Woodley type. He's got 3 years in the league so I hope he's putting in the work to get better. He was pretty good in college but like someone else said, he got away with alot of stuff by shear talent alone.

Having Ware getting double teamed and still dominating should help him too. I'd be happy with 8-10 sacks from Spencer.Hopefully Butler and Williams can add to that also.

Even though he is not a player, I am going to say Jason Garrett :banghead:

I have no faith in him and I am afraid he will be the reason the offensive guys listed in this thread struggle this season.......

No way. I want Spencer to match Ware all the way. Like you said a Woodley t ype.

Asking Spencer to do any more is just getting your hopes up. Is he capable of having a 8-10 sack season? Sure. Can he get 12-14? That remains to be seen.

With Ellis departure there is a depletion amongst the ranks as far as veteran, stable, leadership role type of influence that Ellis provided.

That element will be missed the most initially, but what is intriguing this season, imo atleast, is the exuberance at olb.

Its time for Spencer to grab the reins, and become a factor and component for this defense. An upgrade over Ellis performance could and should be expected from Spencer, just seems to be his time to throw down his version of a Brady James breakout season.

Speaking of which, quite possibly the most under appreciated or least recognized leaders on this D.... James plays well in an agresive WP 46, he is just getting started, and his offseason progressions have been anual.

This D has the talent in place this season to be very dangerous and feared
throughout the league.

call me a Homer, but Im predicting top 5 overall easy....
P

There is a different feel to this team this season, and I know that phrase gets coined every year, but what is different is evident.

This team is letting guys like Austin, Spencer, Carp, Scandrick,(probably shouldnt be included), to prove their worth.

Well I was kidding as you prob realized but still with the attention Ware will draw this year, even more than last year, this could be a great opportunity for Spencer to break out because you just never know....you know?
Now imagine having OLBs that split 35+ sacks per year. :D

...who has been elevated to ridiculous heights of expectations will end up being the greatest disappointment.

Depending on the day of the week on this website it's either RW11 or Romo.

Romo always has unrealistic expectations. The kid plays great with a very inconsistent unit around him. Think about all the drops and protection breakdowns, but he still manages to have top 5 completion percentages and QB ratings.

We just need Roy to finally compliment those physical gifts and that talent with some production. He always seems to be making excuses. That's why a lot of us have jumped all over him. We also gave us very pretty penny for him, and gave him the richest WR contract in football. Its not unrealistic, we just want him to hold up his end of the bargain.

He will have an entire off-season with Romo and the team give him a chance instead of this constant ragging on him. I don't know how he will do but at least willing to give him a chance to show himself without the daily slams on the guy.

If I were a player on the Cowboys, I wouldn't want to be named Roy Williams under any circumstances.

Only because of the attention the position, fairly or not, gets...QB...Romo will have a ton of expectations in his direction and I don't believe he'll come close to meeting them

I was thinking the same thing but hopefully an emphasis on the running game will alleviate that.
