Zeke may not miss a game this year, but he may serve the 6 next season. The process seems to be unfair to Zeke. The commissioner's power should be on the players mind when this contract is up.

The players make more money by giving this power to Goodell. I don't think the 1600 players will give up $ because 30 or so guys get suspended each year. The issue is Goodell's use and interpretation of the discipline guidelines in the CBA. The NFL needs to stay away from social issues and investigations. Let the law do what the law does.

The problem is incompetence. It is not hard to set up a fair and transparent process with specific instructions for punishment across the board. It's incompetence.

That is kind of chicken and the egg...... not one person has ever watched a game because of Goodell

the NFL was exploding with or without him ......... and it may have reached a tipping point where he is hurting the league

I read enough of the posts to say that including ABQ in that group is unfair.

I've got no problem with dissenting opinions. It's part of what makes this place great. As long as you own it when you're wrong. Lord knows I've shown my backside more times than I'm comfortable with.

I may yet be wrong on this issue. I don't think it's likely at this point, but appeals courts can be squirrelly- especially when it comes to mgmt-union issues.

An excellent overview of the legal hurdles for the NFL in their potential attempt to reinstate Elliot's suspension this year. Basically, highly & exceedingly unlikely.

Essentially, no chance, no chance in h***

Rumors are that a majority of the Team reps to the Union are very much in favor of castrating Goodell as regards discipline in the next CBA.

Here's the problem with that: If you ask the union reps "Are you in favor of taking away Goodell's authority to discipline players under Article 46?" then all 32 of them are going to say "Yes."

If you ask the union reps "Are you in favor of sacrificing 1% of shared revenue back to ownership in exchange for taking away Goodell's authority to discipline players under Article 46?" then all of sudden, they aren't so sure.
