In the NFC, the Cowboys currently lead all teams with six players on the roster—Ezekiel Elliott, Tyron Smith, Zack Martin, DeMarcus Lawrence, Leighton Vander Esch and Byron Jones.

We would have had 8 if Martin and smith didn’t decline. All that talent. Wooooooooh

Edit- yes I know it’s pretty much determined by fans. All pro is a way better but still

Lane Johnson is heading to the Pro Bowl after all.

Johnson will replace Dallas Cowboys tackle Tyron Smith in the Pro Bowl, earning the second consecutive Pro Bowl selection for the former All-Pro right tackle.

Johnson has been vocal about right tackle participation at the Pro Bowl, especially since he is the only right tackle representing the NFC side. Johnson has felt he had to do extra to prove himself to voters, players, and coaches to get that well-deserved Pro Bowl berth. Johnson admitted in December he was pissed he didn't get selected, but that has more to do with the selection process than an actual snub.

Todd Archer of ESPN is reporting that neither Martin nor Tyron Smith will play in the Pro Bowl, and injuries are the culprits. Frankly, neither of them are missing much by their lofty standards. Smith has made the Pro Bowl every year since 2013, so it's not as if the experience is anything new to him, and he could reasonably be expected to earn a spot next year anyway. Martin's resume is even stronger. Martin has been elected to the Pro Bowl every year of his career, and given his age and performance last season, he should make it every year in perpetuity. Martin can afford to skip a Pro Bowl. It isn't going anywhere.

When you said the Cowboupys had 6 players you listed Martin and Smith as part of the 6, then turned around and said the Cowboys would have had 8 if Martin and Smith had played. Subtracting Martin and Smith would bring them from 6 to 4, not from 8 to 6
