I brought up the Packers game focusing more on the work their defense did in the first half to thwart Dak. The look in particular that both the Giants and the Packers used is single high safety presnap look. At the snap, the in-the-box safety diagnosis first run or pass, if run, obviously he runs to the ball. If pass, he drops deep forcing the underneath pass. That's how the Giants messed with Dak and the Packers employed it to perfection early in that playoff loss. That's why I lumped them into the same sentence as the Giants because they basically tried to do the same thing the Giants did in our first two meetings last year. And since they won, despite the late comeback orchestrated by Dak, I'd say it worked.I don't know if I'd use the GB games as a model to stop our offense since they scored 61 points in two games on the Pack. AR won that playoff game for them. Then the next week ATL really exposed them. And the Giants re-tooled their D to stop Dallas' offense. And it worked. I think how he does against the Giants this season will be Dak's litmus test.
But that is why I feel confident Dak won't regress. Because he showed in the 2nd half of that game that he could make adjustments on the fly, understand what the defense was doing and almost pulled off an improbable comeback as a result. If he can do that, he'll be just fine in 2017.
