This dude just said he's been better than Peyton through his first 97 games.

Peyton was a 2 time MVP with 2 other top 5 MVP finishes through 7 season. Dak has been better than that?

You Dak fans are entertaining if nothing else.
You have the GM comparing Dak Prescott yes Dak Prescott to Tom Brady and some fans comparing him to Peyton Manning :laugh:

Dak will be playing like Tom Brady in his prime next season because Jerry Jones said that Dak will fix all his mistakes and be another Tom Brady.

Why would Jerry lie?

Dak just needs a few more "clicks" and he will get er done, fo sho.

I know right! Hilarious. Prescott is a progress stopper. It's as simple as that. Very frustrating as the Cowboys are basically a quarterback away.
Same goes for a few other teams in the nfl. A really good qb makes a world of difference. Only thing is, they are hard to come by.

His expectations are rooted in 7 years of positive feedback from old Jerruh.

good thing you arent a gM or dallas and he doesnt read this nonsense.. you do realize 49mil limits who we can add this year AND,

lets not ignore his cap hit and NT clause next year for 24, not sure the exact number but cut or trade in 24 hes still on the books for ton. maybe 39mil is next years cap hit.. you can NOT just eat that..if you find suitable trade partner maybe but regardless , the roster will be hard to build eating that type of money without backup plan meaning whose taking his place? hes top 10 QB and trying to find another qb to not having a losing season, be top 5 in wins since 16, ROTY, 167 tds 26 rushing tds, and only 65INTs , oh and 4 of 6 years hes got us to the playoffs all heathy years .

first 97 games hes been better than one Peyton manning who after his 8th season won a sb before that, he was 2-4 in the playoffs as well..

maybe fans have to understand thats quite resume even without a NFCCG and we cannot blame his 4 playoff exits on him 2 were squarely on the defense, in 21 on the 14 penalties, no run game and other factors like coaching. so 2022 first time we can out his name as a larger part of a loss with 2 TOS but his team failed him more than hes failed the team since 2016, those are facts and mired in a B2B 12 win playoff berths type run and can possibly build on that , you and typically keep 49mil on the books to get that bets shot to go further this year,
They signed him with intentions of extending him. I think that’s why JJ didn’t sign him earlier because he wanted to be sure it’s his guy. Whether we like it or not.

He looked very unhappy after the game sealing int that Dak threw. But after he cools down he still believes in him. So he will give him more weapons and new scheme. If more weapons and a SB winning HC calling the plays don’t work then he may blow it all up. But I doubt it. If he wanted a new QB he could throw his hat in the ring for lamar. I don’t see him doing that.

Therein lies the conundrum though: in order to get Dak more weapons they have to restructure his deal, thereby kicking money down the road, and should Dak still fail Dak's new restructured deal makes it difficult to move on from him.....so do you leave his contract alone and make other contract restructures (Martin. Tyron, DLaw, etc.) to create enough room to bring in a few offensive weapons and treat 2023 as a prove it or move on year?

Personally, I think the later is a better approach.

if im dallas, i play him this year at his current contract with the new scheme and if it fails hes gone...no extension
The problem is who are you going to find to replace him? He is good enough to take the team into the playoffs.

That's fair, and the answer is to draft his replacement. It's not a guarantee by any stretch and there would be a substantial cap hit but sometimes short term pain must be made for long term gain.

All that being said, I hope this is a moot point and dak gets over the hump this year and shows consistent performance and steps up in the biggest moments

That's accepting getting to the play-offs as the organisational aim .... and then using luck as a strategy to win it all.
The question back to you is whether Dak and his 20% CAP hit will allow us enough CAP to provide the weapons that 2022 showed he needs.
The replacement option may be to create the team that a lesser QB can fit into....EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED WITH DAK.
He needs to step up, otherwise under him the ceiling is getting to the play-offs.

I don't know whether he still believes in Dak, or whether he's waivering.....he's always going to fully back OUR GUY's.
Jerry Jones has already demonstrated twice, in the cases of Quincy Carter and Tony Romo, he will drop his full support in his quarterback if a significant event occurs that either: a) leaves him zero options (quarterback on drugs and not compliant) or b) has immediate long-term applications (quarterback performing at a historically successful rookie level). Something similar has not occurred with Dak Prescott up to now.

For that reason, I think Prescott has retained Jones’ 100% support. His qualifications are not the same as others in regards of quarterback performance, so he will not ditch his current franchise quarterback as easily as some observers demand he should.

Fair point. Flip side is Cooper Rush, a practice squad level quarterback went 4-1 with the same team as Prescott last season so it's not really saying much that Prescott can take the team to the play offs as so could Rush based on those 5 games.

In other words, let's draft a QB within the first 2-3 rounds.
