I think it's more of a safety precaution than anything.

There was some discussion about him not being able to change directions very well. I think it could be a combination of a couple different things. He is coming off a knee injury and not matter how long it is has been it takes time to get confidence that it isn't going to snap again. Live action with no problems will help that. Secondly, I am sure they AFO may limit his lateral movement some. As he gets stronger I bet they remove it.

Went back and watched the first drive, focusing on Collins and Cooper, and I didn't see any issues with their play. Neither gave up much ground in pass protection and executed their blocks in the run game, even if they didn't always get much movement.

I feel much better about Cooper after seeing him play with the rest of the starters. I still think Green might be the better player, but I could definitely live with what I saw on that drive.

Other members have already said it.

To be sure, I perused the last five pages of threads…not one mention of Thomas, but a couple on Neal and Rush as examples.

Sure, he might be a pet cat for a few fans (probably Longhorn fans), but I'd hardly consider him a "fan favorite" (which implies that most fans are in his camp) at this point.

Again, not sure why you're so riled over him, but whatever.

(By the way, as a fan who has no feelings on him, good or bad, he was clearly picked.)
