I'm saying we put our 1st into defense next year and our 2nd into a receiver. Dez being out is sorely affecting us... and this defense is awful.

I don't think their talent level is that much better.

It is just that their coaching staff and executive leadership does an incredible job of identifying athletes and then putting them in the best situations to succeed.

The coaching/organizational gulf is far wider than the talent one.

I don't think the D sucks. I think it's mediocre.

I agree, their pretty average. The offseason mucked it up by not adding more talent on the defensive line and relying on knuckleheads like Gregory and McClain. I don't know, I've pretty much accepted the defense isn't going to be lights out or anything this year and that the offense is going to have keep them off the field as much as possible (ala 2014). It's not a good plan to have, but it's what we have.
