Right now, I'd have to say I'm pinning my hopes on RB Gus Johnson to come through for the Cowboys and be perhaps the most pleasant surprise of this training camp. It's no great surprise that the RB position is one that's presently considered to be the most shaky on this team. Gus should be the main RB to keep an eye on this Thursday vs. San Diego in that preseason contest.
He has acquitted himself admirably so far in camp and has earned the right to be highlighted for that game, largely due to the slight injuries befalling our main RBs like McFadden and Randle. He has been able to run well in addition to displaying a good grasp of the playbook, which is something that Lache Seastrunk has been having difficulty with. It's Lache's pass blocking duties that have reportedly been questionable, something that hasn't been problematical thus far with Gus.
