Luv our new look line up. I noticed Mazi Smith missing from your list. Makes me think, do we move on from him before the Philly game or here's a thought, would Clark improve Mazi if Clark gets paired with him in the middle, making Mazi a complimentary player? That way Mazi isn't expectcted to be the main guy? Wondering if his trade actually makes Mazi better. I mean, he does flash at times.
Can go three deep there clark is at an age and coming off an injury last year that you should give him some time on the sidelines So you bring in Toya and Mazzy just for short bursts give them more rest on the sideline but yeah the number one guy will be on the field more than the other two but you always need that depth and rotation in the middle like Thomas will come in for OSA and Winfrey can play both positions like this is about finding matchups and groupings and Matt needs to figure out how to get him in and out of there playing chess with the offense.

I like this defense ,yes Parsons is a bit leaves a big hole, but I think as a group they weren't caught with their pants down,

we literally drafted two defensive ends in the last two drafts Kneeland/EZE ,we brought back Houston and Fowler, and then Sam Williams is in a contract year never downplay him seeing what's going on here in a way to just step up and get Jerrys attention either here or somewhere else ,to get a big contract....

Even for depth reasons, they brought back Isaiah land and they have Turner they can bring off IR I mean it wasn't like they were sleeping on this possibility of happening..

Overall I think there's more depth at linebacker at safety and when they all come back in Game 5 even at corner..

Truly don't know what that translates to but I don't think it's going to be as tragic or a train wreck as people think...

A total rebuild with trading a single player.

Not expecting much, but roster churns excite me.

If only we weren’t saddled with Dak and his contract, this would really feel like a true rebuild.

What side does EZ naturally play on? Does he play more where Micah played or is that left side gonna be unnatural for all our DEs?

Wouldn't go with the term rebuild, but re-tool. more Apropos... Jerry's never really went into a total rebuild if he was going to do that, he would have not signed Lamb or Prescott and it would have been made more sense because every one of them would have been traded let go and we'd have been started at the bottom...

Micah never had a true side, I mean he went from all over ,so I don't think most of those guys are left or right handed typically that you talk about that with offensive lineman some of them can't play both positions but with defensive guys I don't think it matters they just want to come from everywhere besides the fact that I think Matt defense is more stand up than hand in the ground so they're going to be walking up sliding Twisting come back around I mean I hope they're coming from everywhere...

Most defenders especially unique pass rusher, just looking for the weak link each game, they're going to go test the line early, and then they're going to find the spot they're going to come over until you can stop it. Could be a center Oregon a guard they're not always going to be cemented out on the outside but for sure they want to pick the worst of your two tackles and then go after them..

No, with the number of players added this off season, rebuild is correct.

This now has a three year window of growth,

You lose humor...do I have to apologize now having one through the work to bring you up to speed?

Hell of a football discussion you have going there. Like the Cowboys?

You are insulting now with Sir ... oh, :muttley:
Thank you, CCBoy.
You are a master debater.

Effort does not equal quality, that's why. It doesn't help when the OP is confrontational, does not take well to criticism, answers with cryptic nonsense far too often, and doesn't show any in-depth knowledge of the game. He is one of the two people I prefer to not engage on this board, and seeing as I'm a very easy going person, that says something.
The fact that you responded to me means I’m not the other one

With Micah Parsons now in Green Bay, the Dallas Cowboys will be looking for a new starting defensive end for the first time in four years. Over that time, the Cowboys were set up nicely with Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence as the starting defensive ends heading into the season. Now, with Parsons in Green Bay and DeMarcus Lawrence in Seattle, the Cowboys will be starting a new defensive end duo for the first time since 2021.

In the Cowboys most recent release of their depth chart, the team has Dante Fowler and Sam Williams listed as the starters for the defensive end position group.

Fowler was expected to start opposite of Parsons before the trade, but once the trade was announced it was unsure who else would get the start in week one.

Sam Williams, Marshawn Kneeland, and 2025 second-round pick Donovan Ezeiruaku are all on level playing fields heading into the season, but Kneeland’s ability is seen to defend the run the best out of the three.

I don't think who is listed as starters means much, particularly on the defensive line. Williams and Fowler probably stand a chance to take the majority of the snaps at DE, but I'm not sure either will be out there on the first snap because they are not plus run defenders. I think Kneeland will be one of the ends on first down. Not sure who the other will be.

Similarly, we have three linebackers listed, but most of the time we'll be in nickel so only two will be out there. I'd expect those two to be Murray and Liufau because Sanborn is not as good in coverage. However, we may use a safety at linebacker (probably Bell) on some downs and distances.

Kenny Clark is no longer a stud DT. Do you truly believe that, cuz if you do you don't watch or follow the league.
He wasn't last year, but was the year before. The question is whether it was a toe injury that persisted all of last season or if he's just wearing down.

He received a January operation. Those aren't salary enhancement but recovery. Recovery should be expected although.
