He received a January operation. Those aren't salary enhancement but recovery. Recovery should be expected although.
Right, and he says that he's healthy and back to normal after playing through the injury all last year.

With Micah Parsons now in Green Bay, the Dallas Cowboys will be looking for a new starting defensive end for the first time in four years. Over that time, the Cowboys were set up nicely with Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence as the starting defensive ends heading into the season. Now, with Parsons in Green Bay and DeMarcus Lawrence in Seattle, the Cowboys will be starting a new defensive end duo for the first time since 2021.

In the Cowboys most recent release of their depth chart, the team has Dante Fowler and Sam Williams listed as the starters for the defensive end position group.

Fowler was expected to start opposite of Parsons before the trade, but once the trade was announced it was unsure who else would get the start in week one.

Sam Williams, Marshawn Kneeland, and 2025 second-round pick Donovan Ezeiruaku are all on level playing fields heading into the season, but Kneeland’s ability is seen to defend the run the best out of the three.

Awesome thread! Thank you

He’s not wrong though. Anything to get Jerry out of his stubborn rut will at least shake up what isn’t working

82 year old narcissists don’t change.

If you honestly believe this, you don’t truly understand the type of person Jerry Jones is.

Know what's crazy? Most of us Dallas fans have been begging for a player like Clark for years , then when we do go get a stud DT, any positivity or joy we feel gets trampled on, time and time again. Can we just learn how to be happy and positive about a solid effort being made to correct what ails this team? People tend to look and stay in the past, and dwell on our failings. It changes nothing. It's a fools errand. Facts are, this off-season has much to be proud about, and joyful. I've seen a real attempt by this front office to change what we been doing and how we been thinking etc. I'm not drinking the Joneses kool aid, but ****** to Hades, let's give them credit as well when we see a nice effort being made. We seen it when we hired Shotty. When you hear him talk, and see what he's all about which is chemistry, and no nonsense, you fall in love with him. Not to mention, they let the guy hand pick his entire staff. This is new. Not since Bill Parcels have we seen een that. Now fast forward to the trade. I believe the first person Jerry wanted input from other than his son, was our hc. He didn't want to make a big move like this unless the hc gave his input. That's huge . It's meaningful. I wish our fan base would judge Jerry according to not what he says neccassarily, but what he has been doing this off-season. I think the Micah ordeal made them look in the mirror for the first time since we hired the Tuna and made sweeping changes. Let's not forget, back then, those charges brought us Tony Romo. Because we had the guts to hire the right coach at the right time. I think the Jones boys got to that point again. As bad as this Micah thing was, it forced them to look at EVERYTHING and what they wanted to accomplish. Good on them for doing what was needed, despite the backlash. It might not mean we win alot of games the next two years, but it does set up this franchise for the future. We now have the ammo to do whatever we want, and plenty of cap. I always believed this parting of company with Micah had to happen for the betterment of the team going forward. Sorry for the coffee fueled rant. I choose to be happy with what I see. Best Philly!!:espn:
Great points, and I agree they definetly are starting to practice what they preach. Seems like they want people who are team first. The last few training camps that I attended i always noticed Parsons acting like a jack *** on the sideline. For him it was a joke to practice but to some players trying to make the team their livelihood was on the line. It just seemed off. Super stoked to have Kenny Clark and ready to see what the future has in store for this team. LFG baby!

I like it...people forget how much of a liability Parsons was against the run because he was so small
Dallas ranked 16th or worse against the run in all four of Micah's seasons here. If Dallas didn't have a lead and Parsons couldn't just pin his ears back and rush his value diminished greatly.

Trade for a run-stopping edge defender

The Cowboys had one of the worst run defenses in the league last season, and it might be even worse after this trade. They gave up 4.8 yards per carry in 2024, which ranked among the five worst teams in the NFL.

Now, Kneeland and Dante Fowler Jr. are set to start on the edge. You can't rely on either of those players to be a force against the run. Osa Odighizuwa and Kenny Clark form a nice duo on the inside, but neither of them is a run stuffer.

This run defense could get ugly if Dallas doesn't bring someone else in. A trade for Arizona Cardinals edge Zaven Collins could make sense, as Collins recently lost his starting spot. While he isn't a dominant pass rusher, Collins posted an impressive PFF run defense grade of 84.3 last season. He could be available for a late-round pick.

What could be an aide for development of this group of young and inexperienced group at defensive end.

Both Kneeland and Fowler are better setting the edge vs the run than Parsons who was a liability vs the run. If you don’t think Kenny Clark is a run stuffer, you know nothing about him. He is a 1 tech with the power and movement skills to play 3 if needed.

That was before the CTE
:muttley: :lmao::grin: Did you even play? Football hasn't changed how it is played only some fans on site boards claim always to be entitled...you are no where entitled. yea, full of it.:flagwave::popcorn:

You claim to have advantage over Johnny Appleseed. Hillbilly honcho. Mumble more, but try and get something right beside moving one's lips. Buy the frachise and fire him playground dialogue.

Who the hell is impressed with your insulting Jerry.:flagwave:

This fake routine is after Parsons was traded.:omg:

Yeah, I still have no clue what you’re saying.
