Prime for Prime. who was better. Dez or Miles Austin?

Austin was faster and a better route runner. He was also more elusive and had more short area burst. He also has better hands.

Dez has better stats, but that's largely due to circumstance.
Due to circumstance? You can’t be serious. Completely biased against Dez. He has made so many phenomenal plays and catches. The last healthy year 2014 that Dez and Romo played together they were near unstoppable. I guess prime miles could probably thrive better with dak because he could run a 10 yard curl with the best of them. Give Dallas a quarterback that is both accurate and can anticipate beyond 10 yards and Dez has a considerably better year.

So does Austin's not having better stats, due to circumstance I guess.

Dez was the best 50-50 ball catcher maybe in the history of the NFL those days are gone
He's scared of injury now.
When you combine all the babysitting in the maturity phase and the fact that he's not even a number 2 anymore I would have to say Austin career-wise was a better investment.
Austin didn't have great numbers but he drew a lot of attention from other receivers

Dak a good amount of times didn’t even look like a number two. It’s pitch and catch

Dez had the better prime but Miles had the better smile, therefore, it's even.

Miles had 1 great year. Dez had 3, 2012-14. So Dez had a better prime years (3), vs Austin's 1. And no, i'm not clueless or have a short memory.
You are one of the most clueless trolls on here. Give me a break.
He said “absolute prime”. He did not say three year prime. Have you ever heard of the term “absolute zero”? absolute - “Independent of arbitrary standards of measurement”. Please don’t step to me with your fourth grade education.

If you take all their best games and create top 10 performances Austin would have the best performance (KC) and Dez would own the rest. It’s not even close

Austin in 09 had some monster games.
KC 10C, 250Y, 2TD
ATL 6C, 171Y, 2TD
NYG 10C, 104Y, 1TD
OAK 7C, 145Y, 1 TD
NO 7C, 139Y, 1 TD

5 games over 100 yards.

Last two games of the season he had:
WAS 9C, 92Y
PHI 7C, 90Y

2010:
10, 146 1TD
10, 142.
9, 166, 1TD
7, 117
6, 115 1TD

2011:
9C, 143Y, 3TD

Of course Dez in 14, for example had:

10C, 103Y, 1TD
9C, 151Y
6C, 158Y, 2TD
6C, 114Y, 3TD
and a handful of games in the 80-99 Yard range.

13:
9C 141Y 1TD
6C, 141Y 2TD
8C, 110Y,
11C, 153Y. 1TD

12:
8C, 105Y
13C, 95Y 2TD
5C, 110Y
12C,145Y 1TD
8C, 145Y, 2TD
9C, 224Y, 2TD

Damn shame Miles couldn't stay healthy. Forgot Dez had a 200+ yard game.
Just was looking up numbers, seems it would be a healthy mix of the two, but Dez having more games of over 100 yards, probably due to health.

Dez had size and strength, but be wasn't and isn't the greatest route runner in the world. He shouldn't be classified as the teams' top target anymore. Miles had speed and ran really good routes. He had a great game against Kansas City, which I guess warranted a huge contract(way to go Jerry). Then he pulled a hamstring, which I'm not even sure has healed yet. Evidently, it didn't hurt enough to keep him from picking up his game check every week. Accomplishments: Dez in a landslide. Best Agent: I'll take whoever Miles had

I agree about the strengths of each player. Dez got by due to his size and his ability to out jump/reach corners and then punish them by having them try to tackle him. He had the build of a RB.
Jerry was guilty of giving out big deals that decade based off limited performances. Barber is another one that rang that bell, along with freaking Roy Bum Williams the receiver.

However, Austin did end the 09 season on a super high note. He signed that extension in 2010-11 season, even though he was on a 1 year, 3m extension(RFA?) at that time.

lol. And as I said, he had 1 great year. Dez 3 years > Austin's 1 year. You are a jerk. Enjoy ignore.

So now I am a troll. I've been here for over 10 years (user name originally PJCowboys).
