I think it's more the people who wanted him to take a pay cut would retain him again, and the people who wanted him cut still want him gone.

Either way, he's not our top FA priority, but we are going to need to hang on to a couple of those FA DBs.

All these people who were like you shouldn't take a defensive back high last year are now wanting to go into the top end of the FA market to overpay for a defensive back.

Oh and if I was in charge i'd bring back Mo, Carr and Wilcox and i'd be taking a DB in the 1st 3 rounds.

Mo has played an average of eight games a season the past four years, with a high of 11. I'm not interested in paying him anything to sit in the trainer's room for half the season.

I'd resign Carr and Church, and let Frazier and Heath earn more reps. They have to add DBs in the draft, too. There was a good argument for taking the DB in the draft last year, and this was it.

You may not know this as i've tried to keep my feelings quiet....but....I wanted a DB at 4....if there would have been one there who could play S or CB even better....

At first, I wanted to bring back Carr, but there are a good number of some pretty good and younger CB's in FA this year. I know we aren't supposed to be spenders in FA this year, but instead of throwing down 4-5 million a year on Carr, this is the spot I would not mind opening the wallet a bit.
You mean like we did when we opened the wallet for a good young CB in free agency 5 years ago?

That guy's name? Brandon Carr.

resign - to leave a position or job.

re-sign - to commit to a team for some further period of time.

Hmmm! Whoever devised this English language was either sadistic or just plain dumb.

Carr to Cowboys in 2016 - Are you going to sign me to a new contract.

Cowboys to Carr in 2016 - We want to keep you but we will have to wait until the offseason and see where we are.

Carr to Cowboys following 2016 - I might retire.

Cowboys to Carr following 2016 - Carr is our top FA priority

Me to both - It is time to move on.

I went in wanting Bosa, then Ramsey. Elliott turned out a great consolation prize. It's most important that we hit on that pick, so I'm not complaining, but tactically I still don't think it was the right position to be drafting at #4 overall.

All 3 of those players hit. 2 of the 3 much more likely to be worth their 2nd contract. Oh well. Now we need to hit with a defensive player at 28. Hopefully we cnotniue our good run of 1st round selections.

OJ Howard......make the offense great again

Cut Free to re-sign Leary....Collins to RT

Sign Cordarelle Patterson as WR5/KR

Draft a RB that can play 3rd downs better than Dunbar

I'm willing to spend more than Brandon Carr and Morris Claiborne would cost together on an outside free agent CB.

We need to get younger and faster than Carr and healthier than Mo.

Not many FA CBs have been playing better than Claiborne the last couple years

How many free agent CBs have played more than Morris Claiborne the last couple years?

I'm not against bringing him back, sooner or later Mo is bound to better luck with injuries, but I'd be looking to upgrade in free agency and then the draft.

If he re-signs, expect competition.

That's great and we can pay them 10m+ plus because they have no questions and all the talent

Agree we need one, even maybe two back, but I'm not seeing suggestions on players that can help this pass rush outside of maybe a past his prime Ware? If there are pass rushing DEs in FA that make it worthy of going that direction, that would obv be our #1 priority. I just would rather upgrade where we can rather than go status quo again and go bargain binning @ both positions.

I would look at Mo/Wilcox personally if reasonable,;and even Carr on a 1 yr deal wouldn't be terrible as a "back up/safety signing" in case the draft doesn't go our way in addressing the position but should be last resort as he is JAG that stays healthy; week 2 signing ideally. Church is just too slow for the modern passing game.

Hopefully we can get a rusher in the draft early as well as a decent DE in FA, but the pickings are always so slim there. Maybe a good LB wouldn't be a bad investment either considering the lack of talent and bang for your buck @ CB and DE?

seems to fit in with our sit back and relax defense smh. Why waste money. I rather take a chance on a guy that actually make plays on the ball. We already wasted what 50 million on a average player.
