There are three Houston Texans on that list, they must be an amazing football team.

They're better then a lot of people give them credit for, they're one of those teams people just forget exists cause well,.. they're the Texans :laugh2:.
If they ever make the playoffs with the current roster

Johnson, Ryans, Slaton and Williams will all be household names Williams already is in a way, not for his play, but cause he's the player that's not Reggie Bush

Johnson, Ryan, and Williams are all pro bowlers due to their play on the field.

Looking at the list of people who almost made it? Shaun fat *** rogers is on that list. You've got to be kidding me. He can't play 3 downs in a row b/c he gets too tired. They had him before romo.

This Nnamdi Asomugha stuff is getting a little ridiculous.

He certainly is one of the best, but the media is creating this imaginary gap between him and some of the other top CBs in the NFL, imo.

I'm surprised he's getting crowned the best, because he only has 10 career interceptions. That is what the media normaly looks at. Terence Newman has 20 career interceptions, and he has been consistently great and over looked by the media.

The media crowned Champ Bailey and hyped him up and compared him to Deion Sanders. Bailey is/was good, but he was never as good as the media hyped him up to be.

Yes. Asomugha is tough to throw against, but he didn't even start until 2005. Furthermore, he was drafted in 2003. He has been a late bloomer. Newman has been consistently great since he was drafted in 2003. Newman's average YPA (during his career) has been better than Asomugha's (Joyner/Vela), and Newman has twice the picks of Asomugha. Newman's YPA took a hit this year, but he was injured and missed 6 games.

The Oakland Raiders were ranked 31 in run defense.

They gave up 159.7 yards per game. You don't have to throw the ball at him when you can run all over them.

I hope Roy Williams torches him on Thanksgiving.

.

He's awfully good, but they do seem to drinking an extra glass of koolaid when discussing him.

I do think these rating on how good a player is right now--not considering whatsover how they were 3-4 years ago.

Can someone... anyone... give me one good reason why Carson Palmer should be ahead of Tony Romo?

Thanks in advance.

I'm glad you see that.

Asomugha had 8 interceptions in 2006, but he only has 2 picks in the last 2 years, one each year. He is really good, but I think he's getting the Champ Bailey treatment. He has replaced Bailey.

On the other hand, Anthony Henry was thrown at 100+ times in 2006 according to Joyner, and that led the league. That was Henry's best year, imo. He hadn't lost a step or two back then. Newman only had one pick that year, but the media didn't take note of his talent or overall great play. He had that one tough game against Detroit, but Dallas' defense was in complete disarray. The safeties were playing up, and the CBs were playing safety. Everyone was lost. I can count the number of TDs Newman has given up since 2005 on one hand. In 2005 and 2007, he didn't give up a TD according to my recollection.

I've heard some in the media say, "Asomugha only has one interception, because they don't throw at him".

To those guys in the media, I would say this.

Well, there's a guy in Dallas who has been there and done that, and the media looked the other way. They helped send DeAngelo Hall to the Pro Bowl, twice.

By the way, the NFL just threw at Hall while he was in Oakland until they cut his butt.

I would have Calvin Johnson on there. I can't imagine how ridiculous he would be with a top QB and Oline. I feel pretty sure that he is fairly close to Andre Johnson in skill level....and better than Reggie Wayne.

+1

And they have Chump Bailey on that list, but not Newman?

Ben landed in the perfect situation and gets way too much credit just like another qb who played for the Steelers.
I'd argue that Romo landed in an even better situation and has made far less of it.

Romo landed in a good situation too. But Romo has to do more in order for his team to win especially since we got the pass-happy OC. Ben hands the ball off and has the best defense in the league. Romo has an overrated defense and an OC that trys to get him killed by calling all those deep passing plays expecting our mediocre o-line to protect him all game.

Ha!

The Cowboys before Romo had issues running the ball and MAJOR issues on the O-line. Those issues mysteriously vanished after #9 took over for Bledsoe.

We needed Tony to become a playmaker... Pittsburgh needed Ben to become a care-taker.

Now Ben's done a great job of that and I give him credit for it, but it's ridiculous to pretend that Tony inherited a situation as good as Ben's... MUCH less a better one.

I stopped reading when I saw he had Ryan Clady as the best o-line men in the NFL.

HAHAHAHA! According to Prisco, Deangelo Williams is the 3rd best RB in the NFL. The guy had 1 good HALF of a season last year. Jesus Christ, Prisco sucks.

I love Ware getting his props. I am excited to see what he does this season. If he explodes for 25 sacks, can we put him in Canton? ;)

Agreed with Witten being too low. I think he'll prove his worth this season. I am sticking with my prediction that he is going to threaten the TE yardage record. He coulda had the thing in 2007. Argh. Stupid collapse.

Ware is the best pass rushing linebacker in the NFL? How about best pass rusher. PERIOD.

And Polamalu was just as important to that Steeler team as Harrison, perhaps more. Both should be higher than Rothlessburger.

In complete agreement.

My biggest gripe with my Steelers-fan-friend is that Big Ben is more talented than Romo because the Steelers Super Bowls and playoff success...

It's all about Pittsburgh's defense, and they would win with or without Roethlisberger. Sure they need a good QB, but there is good list of QBs playing in the NFL who would do as a good as or better of a job with the talent that the Steelers have.
