James Harrison wasn't the DPOY in my book. Not in Prisco's either it seems.
Lindy's NFL Preview mag lists the best in the league at each position... here was their top 3 at OLB.

1. Shawne Merriman
2. James Harrison
3. DeMarcus Ware

No joke. Well, it is a joke, but that's their real list.

Troy Polamalu at #35?
What a joke.
The way he impacts games is unbelievable. There is no appreciable difference between him and Reed. I see them both every week up here in BMore.

The top 10 is WAY too heavy on offense.

I agree--as much as I detest the Steelers, I'm a big Polamalu fan. He's fun to watch, and he's a game changer.

So Clinton Portis is the 2nd best running back in the game. Wow.
(This has probably been brought up before but, wow.)

Now that is a certified man-crush on Big Ben. :) Sixth best player among all positions in the entire league? But that's what opinions are for, and it's good to be brave enough to voice it.

Philip Rivers should not even be on that list

He does. He is the reason the Chargers fought back to get into the playoffs this past year and the reason they got to the championship game in 2007.

Philip Rivers is becoming an elite quarterback and shows the type of grit you want in a franchise QB.

I'm surprised Merriman is on the list. I still think the jury is out on him as to how good he will be now that the NFL is watching him closely for steriods. And the fact he sat out the entire season? Should be lower.

Ben landed in the perfect situation and gets way too much credit just like another qb who played for the Steelers.

Yeah, the rest of the Steelers were slipping the Cardinals pass rush and throwing perfect strikes to receivers on the game-winning Super Bowl drive.

Big Ben is kind of like Troy Aikman. It's not Ben's fault that the Steelers are a run-oriented team. But when the chips are down, Ben can get it done with his arm. The guy has two rings already. And although he sucked in the first Super Bowl, he made plays during that playoff run that contributed to his team's appearance in the Super Bowl against Seattle. And his play in the latest Super Bowl showed he is an elite quarterback.
