How did Mazi move up into our first round as most Mocks had him as our 2nd round pick?

Firstly, I'm glad we did take him at 26. I think secondly, they may have found the need when they talked with the Chiefs who apparently wanted him. When they found out who KC wanted, they probably realised he wasn't going to be there at 58, much less was getting out of round 1.

I’m thinking we need Mazi more than an extra third, which was probably the offer to move down five slots at that point.

If they took a DT later it wouldn’t be doing much more than adding another body to the group.

We need difference makers. I don’t know if this guy will be a bust or not, but if he plays as well as the Cowboys think he will, he will upgrade the team (based on the team’s current needs) more than any other position except QB.

Look. You have computer programs fed data that rank players. It is not an exact science... that is why you send scouts to watch these players play in person. Tom Brady was a 6th round-draft choice... remember?
