People suddenly care about this game? Hi-larious.
I care about the players being honored, not the game. I haven't watched a Pro Bowl in years and don't plan to.

I know who GB fans would say.

Crosby would be my second choice right now, but Folk has the better stats...

The voting is always biased and this is why it only matters 1/3. The players and coaches will determine who actually deserves to go to the pro bowl. That being said, i think oliver hoyte, roy williams, keith davis, or possibly marion barber will make it to hawaii. Barber maybe as the #3, but i think players will have a hard time putting him b/c he shares time. petersen, westbrook, and portis has had a great year (except for the cowboy game) I hope they all make it, but not sure.

Packers fans vote.

A lot.

I'm not sure it's just that they vote a lot. I believe that somebody up there may have figured out a way to automate their voting process. I could be wrong, though. Whenever the Campbells soup voting thing takes place they have like 10 time more votes than the Cowboys.

Hey Adam, Did you track this last year as well?? if so, How did the top 3 in fan voting at all positons do compared to the final selection. It would help in gauging how realistic some of these may or may not be.

It depends on the players and the positions, but there are examples every year of players doing well in the fan voting but not even being an alternate -- let alone being in the game. And there are examples of players who don't even finish in the top five in the fan voting who end up STARTING in the Pro Bowl.

Last year, Warren Sapp led the fan voting for AFC defensive tackles, and John Tait led the fan voting for NFC offensive tackles. Neither of them was even one of the top three alternates. AJ Hawk finished second among NFC outside linebackers, and Keith Bulluck was second among AFC outside linebackers, and neither of them were even alternates. Neither was Donovan McNabb, who finished second among NFC quarterbacks (although his injury probably kept the coaches and players from choosing him). None of the guys who finished second, third or fourth among NFC defensive tackles was even an alternate, either.

At the one-player positions (fullback, kicker, punter, returner, special-teamer), there obviously are lots of times when the fan voting doesn't match the final results. Last year, Larry Izzo won the voting for AFC special-teamer and didn't go. Shane Lechler won the voting for AFC punter but ended up being the second alternate. And none of the three alternates for NFC special-teamer was even in the top five in the fan voting. Neither was the first alternate for NFC kicker.

FS -- Sean Taylor got a lot of votes to increase his lead over Brian Dawkins. Hamlin is less than 10,000 votes out of first. Nick Collins is third, and there's a gigantic dropoff to No. 4, Gibril Wilson.

That should say that Hamlin is less than 10,000 votes out of second, with Nick Collins fourth and Gibril Wilson fifth.

I personally believe the NFL shatcans the fan votes and just does the fan vote to generate traffic on their site.
