if Williams takes another step forward It will be interesting to see what happens if an edge falls to us early in the draft. I think McKinley is already facing an uphill battle to make the team or at least the game day roster and if we bring in another edge Fowler could left without a game day role as well since he is a one trick pony. I do like a guy like Fowler getting about 10 snaps a game in pure pass rush situations, so it will be interesting to see how the position develops.

Ideally IMO, unless we bring in another LB, we still Rush Micah in pass situations
, but play him a little bit more like his rookie year with a bunch of run snaps at a pure LB position and then bring him from all over the place on some 3rd downs instead of just lining up at edge as much as last year. I loved when teams didn’t know where Micah was coming from and the confusion and mayhem it caused.
My fear is we will run and beat Parsons into the ground as we are having him do now as seemingly a full time DE like role.
He's being paired vs OTs weighing as much 340 plus on an every down basis, and we're gonna force him to be a shell of himself in an eventual short time.

Instead of installing a role similar to Von Miller or Hasson Riddick that will still have him high productive rushing the passer from various angles and directions
we could still much preserve him over a long term basis.

Sam Williams is getting the peanut butter I hope. I want my rush ends to look like prime DWare from a physique and conditioning standpoint. He has room to grow.

He was one of the Cowboys worst first round picks ever. He only started three games his entire 4 year career with the Cowboys. The team and Parcells was fixated on him weeks before the draft. Huge mistake!
BC was a big guy and played fast and physical middle linebacker in college. Nothing extraordinary but steady. That's a Parcells draft profile if there was ever one. He broke his leg against Michigan in his last game. That may have affected him more than anyone could imagine. He was also a part of an awesome LB room that may have helped him look even better. Hawk was a good Footballer also. Team missed with this pick. It happens, but can't fault the team because the only checkered part of BC's profile was the injury and not the best cover guy. Not many Middle LB's are.

Sam played really well in limited snaps. He’s gonna get stronger, smarter and refine his technique. But he has some traits you can’t learn, speed and aggression

Maybe he was injured a little more seriously than reported. This doesn't really make a lot of sense
Judging by the looks of the wrecked car he drove, it's a wonder he escaped with his life! If he recovers adequately from that disaster, we can likely expect some very good things from him. Common sense likely favors that to happen, imho. Returning fully to good health is, seemingly, the key. His talent level is beyond exceptional, that's for sure. Another year of development should be his friend.

The mothership progress report.
Figure just add it to this one, as no need to start another thread.
There it is! I was reading through the posts to see if anyone captured Sam's accomplishment in leading the team in TFL's.

How many rookies led their team in TFL's? Shows the guy was a disruptor on limited snaps. Whoever posted the thought of getting Williams on the field more, at least to spell Parsons as a rush end, I'm with ya.
